Maryland makes it 2-0 against Rochester. The new Raiders' QB will have one game under his belt at this point, but it won't be enough experience for him.

The Steel Valley Smash in 2000 were 9-5, and many fans figured they were probably going to be a legitimate title contender (despite a 14-0 Peoria team in their conference) after winning what ended up being just an awful division.
That's what we're seeing right now. Maryland and the Rage have feasted on some bad teams. We don't know how good any of you are, because your schedule is very poor. The only legitimate argument with what information we currently have is that the winner here may or may not be the favorite to get smoked by Sioux Falls in the United Conference final. The Rage still have a stake on this, the worst division in the IFL.

So if the Rage beat the Beef thats means they are good right?Because you think the beef are a quality team right? They must be if they beat the team, billings that beat the team SF storm right?Or will you bring up the fact that the beef could barely beat an ice team that was just blown out by the bandits. Which is it? Tell me before the game so I know how you really feel? How about El Paso how are they?by the way you didnt tell me who you think is good.xtreme?fairbanks?Rank your top 6. lets see how good you are?If you are right later on kudos. Dont play Monday morning qb,walk the plank now. ill start in no particular order:sf storm;billings;rage;beef;el paso;xtreme but there is another one coming down the stretch.... its.... MINE THAT BIRD?....i mean raider lol love the banter

Her is a question for you who won the playoff game between a 9-7 cardinals,in a crappy division, and Philadelphia, who beat huge three weeks earlier?

I have yet to figure out why the Raiders are trying so hard to impress me. I'm not in their geographic footprint at all, but yet they keep trying to.
The Raiders are still third in what is the league's worst division.
The Beef are a quality team, if not a bit schizo with their inability to win big games on the road historically. If RiverCity can beat them in Omaha (which isn't likely at all), that'd be saying something.
You'll have to beat some very good teams to win anything, something the Raiders really haven't done. All you've got is that title win over a Port Huron team that hadn't practiced in two months since they weren't getting paid. And that won't cut it against teams with a pulse. On the road.

The Raiders will have a winning record this year for sure, but I give them one playoff win and done. They could possibly pull out two playoff wins. If they get as far as playing the winner of the Central Division, I give them zero chance. Question though, if the Raiders and Storm make that game, would be the game be in Sioux Falls since the Raiders won't have a home field to play in?

oh they'd find a way to keep it from being in Sioux Falls.
I don't recall if the punishment was no first round playoff game, or no home playoff games.. But I'm sure the owners would find a way to keep that game from being in Sioux Falls.

It was. But when you think about it, it'll be near impossible to get a home playoff game past the first round if the best record you can finish at is 8-6. They'd need a ton of upsets or the teams ahead of them to almost lose out. The best scenario to get a home playoff game is facing the Raiders who won't have a home field at that time.

Wasn't Rochester the one with the outdoor venue scheduled for playoffs? Or was that someone else?

Yes, they were the team with the outdoor venue for the playoffs. I believe that was nixed by the league, but who knows, perhaps it will come up again if the Raiders move into a position where it would happen.
