There's been CDs done to death about great songs to play at sporting events, but what about the neglected after game road trip back home? Most everyone has drank too much and they are still wired, but with no outlet. The solution?..Songs to Sing Along to While Drunk! I'm putting together some CDs to play on bus trips heading home to keep the masses occupied and to make the time pass. This is what I have so far:
Songs to Sing Along to While Drunk
1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen 2. You've Lost that Loving Feeling - Righteous Brothers 3. Show Me the Way to Go Home - Jaws Soundtrack 4. Wild Thing - Troggs 5. Shout - Otis Day and the Nights 6. Tubthumping - Chumbawamba 7. Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet 8. Banana Boat Song - Harry Belafonte 9. Roxannne - Police 10. Who Let the Dogs Out - Baha Men 11. I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor 12. One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - George Thorogood 13. Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks 14. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights - Meatloaf 15. Jump in the Line - Harry Belafonte 16. You're So Vain - Carly Simon 17. Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf 18. Mickey - Toni Basil 19. Mony Mony - Billy Idol 20. Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi 21. Summer Nights - Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta (Grease Soundtrack) 22. Mambo #5 - Lou Bega 23. Lola - Kinks 24. Love Boat Theme - Jack Jones

The rule for these songs is they have to be fun, upbeat, and have a singable chorus or lyrics that everyone can join in on effortlessly.

I can't believe "Gin and Juice" by Snoop Dogg wasn't on that list. I like this song, but I'm not sure everyone else will. I'll add it and find out. I still remember the SNL use of it in a taxi cab skit.

Something by one of the boy bands preferiablly NKOTb Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band Dont Stop Believin by Journey Piano Man by Billy Joel I'd considered the Journey and Billy Joel song. Having you bring them up separately confirms I should have added them. I never heard of the Chicken Fried song before, I'll have to check it out later. I just thought of another one, don't know the name, but some of the lyrics are "A Pizza Hut, A Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut, McDonalds, McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut." I remember some internet youtube sensation named Cutie Mish sang it and my daughter loved it. It did look catchy. Man, I think I'm up to three CD disks now. I'll have to start thinking which order to put them in.

Another one was suggested by Pat Kenison, the genius behind the Meatheads fan group of the Omaha Beef (can't believe I forgot this one either):

Third Sweet Home Alabama...DTF sang this so much at one point I had to ban his ass from singing it. That's kind of how I feel about the song. On the CD I'll make I'll exclude it, but if anyone else wants some made while I'm at it, I'll add it to theirs, or tailor the CD how they want it. Just give me your playlist, song order, and address and I'll send them to you free of charge. My final SONGS TO SING ALONG TO WHILE DRUNK for this weekend's Sioux City bus trip goes like this (seems pretty upbeat, and the few that aren't I sprinkled between way upbeat one's):
1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen 2. You've Lost that Loving Feeling - Righteous Brothers 3. Show Me the Way to Go Home - Jaws Soundtrack 4. Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) - Offspring 5. Wild Thing - Troggs 6. Shout - Otis Day and the Nights 7. Tubthumping - Chumbawamba 8. Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet 9. Banana Boat Song - Harry Belafonte 10. Roxannne - Police 11. Who Let the Dogs Out - Baha Men 12. I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor 13. Hot, Hot, Hot - Buster Poindexter 14. One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - George Thorogood 15. Just A Friend - Biz Markie 16. Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks 17. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights - Meatloaf 18. Jump in the Line - Harry Belafonte 19. You're So Vain - Carly Simon 20. Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf 21. Mickey - Toni Basil 22. Mony Mony - Billy Idol 23. Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi 24. Summer Nights - Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta (Grease Soundtrack) 25. Mambo #5 - Lou Bega 26.
