You * people are a bunch of fags(yes I did just say that). Billings still had to win games to win the championship. Do they deserve a * in their NIFFLE championship because they didn't play int he same league as SF when they won it? ?? I know y'all we just sitting by the computer the last two to three months just waiting for the opportunity to do that.

I am clueless? The Steelers deserve an * because they didnt have to play Tom Brady and the Patriots to get to the Superbowl. Does that make sense?

Billings beat the teams that the had to in the playoffs, can't take that away from them. They were, for sure, the best team in the league this year. Sickening that the drop off between Billings and everyone else was so drastic, maybe Bob Scott has a point.
It's going to be a wild off season. Here's hoping we can all get together and do this all again next year. Right now, excuse me if I have my doubts.

What you have trouble giving someone else respect for there accomplishment? Don't be a sore looser. The Storm were out of the playoffs because even after the punishment they didn't win the games they had to win to get in. The IFL did not singlehandedly take the Storm out of the playoffs, they just knocked a few steps out of there ladder.

I know some SC fans try to take away UB1 by saying the FG was no good, I am not one of them.
I blame that loss on the hot and sweaty crown that made the ball slick and cause Freddie to fumble it.

I think Billings was the best team in the league -they proved that all season. To me - does that ean there is not at least still a small asterisk after the championship? No. There's still a small one.
If the league had played a role in the Steelers not having to play Brady and the Patirots to win SB - they would also have an asterisk. And had the outcome of games been solely responsible for the Storm missing the playoffs, Billings woulnd't have one either.
Either way - congrats to Billings on a great season. Should be an interesting offseason. That's for sure.

A few steps?
a 13-1 Storm team would have barely made the playoffs this season by winning the tiebreaker with Wichita.
How is saying Billings was the best team in the league all season showing disrespect? You'd be foolish to think there's not a cloud hanging over this entire season because of the actions of the owners. It takes a special team and organization to win a championship in any level. Possible exceptions are a Kansas winning the apfl, and Louisiana winning the SIFL. Football is a game where you have play the cards that are dealt. Billings did that and won. Did they play the best other team, in my opinion to win said championship, no. In the end it won't matter Billings won. they deserve the title.
I'm bitter? You had better freaking believe it. I'll take it out on anyone, not because they deserve it, but because I feel betrayed by an organization that had been so close to perfect in the 5 years before this. Now the ugly truth come out that the whole deal was potentially a sham, and I can't be a little upset about the whole deal? give me a break. I sit here today and can't even say for sure I'll have a team to watch next year. From 4 titles to potentially defunct in 18 months, I'm freaking ecstatic, really.
I said THREE WEEKS before the season started the Storm was taking chances with this season. How right I was.

Don't forget what you have, 4 freaking championships. Just hosting a title game is SC is more than I could have asked for. I never thought we would do that. Appreciate what you have, don't let bitterness ruin that for you.
No one else can say they did what the Storm did, and you can always wear your 4 peat shirts forever.

I am going to start off with saying what a great game yesterday was. RC played great and you have to wonder where the Rage would be if they had Sankey all year. The guy can flat out wing it. On one of his long TD passes I swear he didn't move his arm he just flicked his wrist and it was on the money. Their oline also played great. Billings had done such a great job on getting pressure on the QB all year and I don't think they got a hand on Sankey all night. If it were not for Outlaws special teams and Rage dropped passes I might be eating some crow today.
When the league first handed out the Storm penalties I was the first to say that the winner would have a asterisk next to their title. My tune has changed for 5 reasons:
1. At the time of the punishment I never expected a Outlaw sweep of the Storm.
2. I was a little emotional about how stupid the league and Storm front office are.
3. My team won the title.
4. I believe an asterisk is something you put next to a team that wins but broke the rules.
5. And finally I truly believe that the Rage team last night was a team that could beat the Storm. Now I wouldn't bet my house on it but the Rage put themselves in the same class as the Storm and the Beef who gave the Outlaws all they could handle in Billings. I can no longer say with 100% certainty that the Storm would have been the team yesterday if they were in the playoffs.
I know my biases are showing in those reasons but that is how I feel. The events of the year should not be held against them as they played the hand they were dealt. I also know that I won't convince all or any of you to change your mind but I made the best argument I could.
And if the Outlaws had a say they would have loved to beat the Storm for a 4th time yesterday.

Sounds like it was a great game. Congradulations to both teams and to the UIF for proving who generally had the stronger teams on the field.

I also know that I won't convince all or any of you to change your mind but I made the best argument I could. And if the Outlaws had a say they would have loved to beat the Storm for a 4th time yesterday. I agree. I was very impressed how RiverCity stepped it up the entire playoffs, very impressed. I don't think there is an asterick either. We all feel bad for the Storm players, but that's not enough for an asterick since unfortunately owners/front office actions do affect teams fates in the minor leagues. There are many, many instances of this at this level and there always will be it seems. Quad Cities wasn't allowed to participate in the playoffs in year three of the AF2 after winning the first two arenacups due to violations. Florida couldn't participate in the playoffs this year after failing to pay up in many areas. Many teams have been unable to complete seasons and have missed the playoffs. Teams haven't had enough money and have had to sell home playoff games to other teams and then lost on the road. Teams haven't had the means to pay players and coaches and they've quit, even when the team has been winning. In the end, it's never the players fault but the owner/front office. Bottom line is the Storm owner/front office effed up and that's that. Billings won the title and beat the Storm three times in the regular season. Blame the Storm front office for not getting a fourth chance. Put the asterick next to the Storm owner/front office for being idiots I say.
