The Sioux Falls Storm is getting a make-over as it gears up for the 2010 Season. Storm fans have many changes to look forward to.
The Storm will be officially announcing a new owner in the weeks to come, as well as new headquarters and logo. The Storm website is under construction. The new and improved website should be up and running by September 1.
We would like to thank our fans and sponsors for your continued support and loyalty and ask that you bear with us during this time of transition. We are excited about the future and are looking to have a breakout 2010 season. More exciting details to come…
Please feel free to email us with any questions or concerns at info@siouxfallsstorm.com
Kind of sounds like a new beginning of sorts.

Well, it would appear that "newness" even includes a new phone number, as the old one is (still)ringing disconnected.

Don't be shocked if the Storm end up joining the af2 I would be very surprised if they did. They are already having financial problems and I wouldn't think a new owner, if it goes through, would want the added expense of the AF2 fees. Right now, from what I hear (and not from internet people), it's hit or miss if the Storm are even around next year.

I'm in agreement with verm. The legalities alone are pretty dicey I'd imagine, then you have all the unpaid bills left by the previous regime. In a perfect world, the Storm could "officially" fold, and Todd could bring in a "new" team. The giant roadblock to this would be the league. Since it would be 'new franchise, the leauge would
A> have to approve it, something I wouldn't really exepct to just be a slam dunk, and
B> they'd want expansion fees, etc.
Plus then he's have to buy new uniforms, pads, etc since all of that would be legally assets of Kent's team, and on lock down thanks to the state tax charges. So, either way getting football back in Sioux Falls for 2010 seems like a GIANT task. Hopefully it can be done, and hopefully we can stay with regional and historical rivals as all off-season shakes out. But on a lighter note should the Storm not be back next season, I'll buy the camper I've been putting off and start camping more.
AF2... an option, travel might actually decrease over last season, but the higher fees would seem to be a deterrent.
IFL... Seems the most logical, but things have to shake out just right. SIoux City and Omaha would need to be back, and in the league I would think.
APFL...An interesting idea. can't say I'd really LIKE to see it happen, no offense to APFL fans, but I'm just not that keen on Ralph. But it might make sense if Sioux City goes along with it.
New League. Oh there's rumors.. more this year than most. What I'd expect to happen is see the AF2 shift to marginally larger markets as the AFL teams looking to play ball again come back. This leaves the smaller market teams ripe for a merger with the ifl aifl teams. In theory it *could* work, but you have to think non WWF professional wrestling in the 80's-early90's. The issue, as ALWAYS in this sport is money and egos. NOBODY has the coin left anymore to prop up a startup team for a couple of years until it either makes money or folds.

Why would the Sioux Falls want to join the APFL?
I heard that Sioux Falls joining the af2 is likely to happen.

I'll shed some quick light on this subject !
1. The Storm's new ownership group will quickly become the model of indoor football 2. The Storm will be back in 2010 and will be a major contendor for the Title ! 3. The Storm will NOT be going to the AF2. The AF2 is all but a dead league . 4. This will be a very exciting off season !

Storm2010....you say the Storm will NOT be going to AF2.
CF4L...you say they will definitely be going to AF2.
Will one, or both of you please expand your comments and give reasoning for your thoughts? What makes both of you so sure?

I should clarify...the second part of #3 is wrong. The AF2 is far from dead.
and I'm far from a AF2 fan.

Its a flawed system. AF2's budget is double that of the other leagues.. The ave. budget in the AF2 is 1.25 million. The ave. in the IFL is 600K. With the AF1 folding, the AF2 has no shot ! A lot of the talent has already deffected into the IFL. Wait til this off-season. My prediction is, the IFL will be the ONLY indoor league that gets stronger this off-season with the other leagues slowly loosing their strong franchises to the stronger league..
The AF2's only recruiting tool was the AF1..
I'm just stating that Sioux Falls will not go to the AF2 because it does not make geographical or financial sence.. The second part is just a buisness opinion..

The Storm fans will still be the biggest sore losers in the history of sports. The history of sports.. that's a bit much man... I might accept the history of indoor football, but given all the crazy poo that's happened in this spots shady part, I'm not even sure you could make that argument. We're most definitely disillusioned by the 2009 season.
