Those guys are picking against the spread, whereas we're picking straight up...not a fair comparison for them really.

Lol ive never done a pickem before this years IFL season what does picking against the spread mean? Read this first: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spread_bettingSpread points as applies to football is simply this: To get gamblers to bet on a game where one team is superior to another, 'spread points (phantom points)' are given to the weaker team days before the game is played. Say the spread is 7 points. If the weaker team loses by 6 points, then any gambler that bet on the weaker team wins (simply add the 7 spread points to the weaker team's final score). If there were no spread points, betting agencies wouldn't get much action since everyone would want to bet on the favorite, not a profitable operation for them. On the link you added, if you look at the picks on that page the spread points are included with the team matchups. Our contest is straight up, which means you pick a winner flat out. Spread points are indeed very hard, the guys in Vegas that do the point systems know their stuff. The college football pickem on this site is using spread points.

I hate picking with the spread for a pickem league. Was in one last year and had like twelve winners picked correctly but since six of them didnt cover the spread that screwed up me up for the week.
