Bummer. The BILLS have lost WR Roscoe Parrish for 4 to 6 weeks(thumb). Does this mean more playing time for Fast Freddie as a receiver? I believe the Bills play the Rams this week as well, so I think Fred has the potential to get some good yards and perhaps his first NFL Touchdown this weekend.

I called Jackson getting his first NFL TD, good on him.
A lot of upsets this past weekend, but some good games. Loved seeing the Chiefs give it to the Broncos. I was surprised my Chargers came back against Oakland, down with Norv Turner.
Last thing I wanted though was to see Favre have a good day, just when the talk on him was dying down too...now I have to listen to Favre this and Favre that again...and in the end the Jets won't make the playoffs, but still Favre will be the most talked about topic of the year...sigh.
We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for the afternoon games and played QB1 (a predict the play for points game) on the Washington at Dallas game. First time I played QB1 since last year, ended up first in the joint out of 5 players, barely.

Al Davis is a joke and needs to be gone, except that I love that his ineptitude keeps the Raiders abysmal year after year and that's a wonderful thing. Here's hoping he stays around, and his team keeps getting the stuffing beat out of them, for many years to come (even though he really needs to go).

Nothing really surprised me in Week 5 of the NFL season, except the Cardinals beating the Bills by as much as they did, 41-17, after getting the snot beat out of them in NY the week before (but Warner did turn it over 6 times that week and 0 times today).
Norv Turner, ugh.
Saint Louis, Houston, Detroit, and Cincinnati are officially (as declared by myself) out of the playoffs. Only one team that started 0-4 has ever made the playoffs and that was the '92 Chargers...and I don't see any of these teams adding their name to that list.
I love the Baltimore defense, have since 2000. If the Ravens can ever muster a decent offense they'd be something to fear.

yeah ... the BILLS are 4-1 and it feels like the end of the world. lol.
Trent Edwards(BILLS qb), went out of the game with a concussion(clean hit) on the 3rd play of the game. In came a cold JP Losman. And though he hit Lee Evans with an 87 yard TD bomb, there wasn't much else to get excited about as Fewells' run defense looked like crap and the BILLS couldn't stop the Cards on 3rd and 9 ...3rd and 13 or any 3rd down all game.
BILLS now have a bye week and that is right on time. Hopefully Trent Edwards can get well in that short window and the BILLS can right the ship with Chargers and then the AFC east all coming up.

Week 6:
- Al Davis and the Raiders: I love how pathetic they are. Kiffin sent in a game plan to Russel even though he's no longer the coach, definitely a bad firing on Davis' part. - Matt Ryan is looking real good as far as rookie qb's go. Keep giving the ball to Turner and the Falcons may be the next team to go from worst to first in the NFC South division. - Tampa's better with Garcia at qb. He makes less mistakes and with their great defense that equals wins. - Miami came back to earth today, but they have still shown in their last three games that they aren't a pushover anymore. - Chargers came out with purpose and kicked the Patriots very thoroughly. Patriots look very banged up now, but still, they got their a** kicked and showed lack of energy after getting down on the scoreboard. - Jaguars defense played great today, but the Raven's had a tough day against the Colts. The Raven's really need help on the offensive side of the ball. - I loved seeing the Cardinals out muscle the Cowboys and get the win. - There's been some high profile blown calls resulting in teams winning that otherwise shouldn't have won this year, the latest being the pass interference call against the Lions that gave the Vikings the opportunity to win the game on a last second field goal. - Anyone complaining about the ref's in the indoor league should realize that officiating will never be perfect and just let it go...the teams in the NFL deal with it as well, but dwelling on it won't help you win next week. - Last week I declared Saint Louis, Houston, Detroit, and Cincinnati as officially out of the playoffs, according to me. I'm now adding Kansas City and Oakland to that list, that's 6 teams out of 32 teams already out of the playoff race as of Week 6. - Teams starting 5-0 have are pretty much guaranteed of making the playoffs, so according to myself, Tennessee and the New York Giants (if they win Monday night) are already in the playoffs. - That leaves 10 open spots for the playoffs and 24 teams fighting for those 10 spots in the final 11 weeks, again, according to me. A lot of football left to decide which teams will grab those final spots.

BTW, the Tuck Rule needs to go. The Cowboys got away with it today when it should have been a Cardinal TD. There is no reason for this rule to be in the NFL anymore, it's ridiculous. It's either an attempted pass or a fumble. If the arm is going forward when the ball comes out is an attempted pass, if the arm hasn't started to go forward and the ball comes out then it is a fumble. If the qb tucks the ball towards his body and the ball comes out, then it is a fumble. This rule needs to be changed by next season.

Giants didn't go 5-0, but I'm putting them in the playoffs along with Tennessee. With their defense and running game, it would take major injuries for them not to make the playoffs. Still, I have them as in. So that leaves 24 teams fighting for the last 10 spots. My current predictions for those 10 teams are as of right now (in no particular order):
New England Pittsburgh Indianapolis San Diego Denver Dallas Arizona Tampa Bay Chicago Washington
Need to step it up to get in: Buffalo NY Jets Miami Jacksonville Baltimore Cleveland Philadelphia San Francisco Seattle Minnesota Green Bay Carolina Atlanta New Orleans
Out (guaranteed) Cincinnati Oakland Kansas City Houston Detroit Saint Louis
Agree/disagree...let's hear how you think it will go.

My take on Week 7: - Buffalo's defense played well this weekend. Fred Jackson had a great block to spring a touchdown and celebrated (making TV highlights). - Dallas got whipped, love it. Rams playing good (tougher on defense and more committed to run...paying off), but still won't make the playoffs. - Seattle's injuries may have done in Holmgren in his last season. - Colts great run over the past few years seems to be done. - There'll be a new head coach in KC next year. - Jets lost to Oakland...wow...I didn't think the Jets were very good, but I thought they were better than that.
In the playoffs (both have a great run game and a great defense): A F C Tennessee 6-0 N F C NY Giants 5-1
In the hunt: A F C Pittsburgh 5-1 Buffalo 5-1 Denver 4-2 New England 3-2 Indianapolis 3-3 N F C Arizona 4-2 Tampa Bay 5-2 Chicago 4-3 Washington 5-2 Carolina 5-2
Need to step it up to get in: A F C Jacksonville 3-3 Baltimore 3-3 San Diego 3-4 N F C Dallas 4-3 Green Bay 4-3 Atlanta 4-2
May be done: A F C NY Jets 3-3 Cleveland 2-4 Miami 2-4 N F C Philadelphia 3-3 Minnesota 3-4 New Orleans 3-4 San Francisco 2-5 Seattle 1-5
Out (guaranteed): Oakland 2-4 Kansas City 1-5 Cincinnati 0-7 Houston 2-4 Detroit 0-6 Saint Louis 2-4

Dallas hasn't played well in over a month, and are 1-3 in the process. Good chance to loose the next two (TB, NYG) going into their bye week.
Looks like camp cupcake has created team cupcake.

My take on Week 8: - Miami taking down Buffalo...Wildcat offense strikes again. - Dallas beat Tampa with defense, I always like to see defensive wins (but I don't like to see Dallas win, so it was a mixed bag). - Mike Singletary...loved his press conference after the game. I wish he was coach of San Diego, that's exactly what the Chargers need. I hope Singletary can get SF turned around since I'd love to see him still a head coach next year. - Tennessee beating the Colts. Good defense and good run games usually result in great teams and Tennessee is showing themselves as a great team this year. I still thought the Colts would win the game though since it was desperation time for them, but the fact that Tennessee held them off impressed me even more. - Chargers need help, but Denver's struggling defense is giving the Chargers a glimmer of hope of being able to still win their division. Neither team may deserve a playoff spot. - NE still hanging tough, beats a Saint Louis team that was surging, no real surprise though. - Baltimore's defense comes through again, man I love their defense. - Cleveland beat Jacksonville in Jacksonville. Jacksonville isn't what I thought they were and unless they fix it they'll be on the outside looking in come playoff time. - Seattle still has an outside chance of winning their division if Arizona does their customary crumble whenever they're having a good season. I still think Arizona will hang on to win the division though, but their history is one of crumbling.
In the playoffs (both have a great run game and a great defense): A F C Tennessee 7-0 N F C NY Giants 6-1
In the hunt: A F C Pittsburgh 5-2 Buffalo 5-2 Denver 4-2 New England 5-2 Indianapolis 3-4 N F C Tampa Bay 5-3 Arizona 4-3 Chicago 4-3 Washington 6-2 Carolina 6-2
Need to step it up to get in: A F C Baltimore 4-3 Jacksonville 3-4 San Diego 3-5 N F C Dallas 5-3 Green Bay 4-3 Atlanta 4-3
May be done: A F C NY Jets 4-3 Cleveland 3-4 Miami 3-4 N F C Philadelphia 4-3 Minnesota 3-4 New Orleans 4-4 Seattle 2-5 San Francisco 2-6
Out (guaranteed): Oakland 2-5 Kansas City 1-6 Cincinnati 0-8 Houston 3-4 Detroit 0-7 Saint Louis 2-5
