With the merger of the UIFA and Intense leagues into the second coming of the Indoor Football League, that now leaves 4 indoor football leagues on the landscape...the IFL, CIFL, AIFA, and APFL. The CIFL and AIFA have announced they will be back, but the jury is still out on whether or not the APFL will return (lets hope it doesn't and that the worthwhile teams land elsewhere). I wonder if any other league's will pop up. I know there are a lot of rumors about what will happen with the APFL and I seem to recall a league trying to play during the same time the NFL season runs...good luck with that. I for one would love to see the number of leagues diminish to only a few, but competition has always been proven to be good in the long run so I dont want to see a total monopoly, although the IFL versus the AF2 wouldn't be bad...2 leagues duking it out over different styles...and the IFL winning. All that's a long way off though, or is it?

What about the CPFL abd IIFA? Those are semi-pro leagues.

CPFL plays outside - with indoor rules. I believe they are planning or have already played some games indoors. And IIFA - wow - the video of the game that I saw. Just Wow. Interesting venues.

Semi-pro leagues won't be covered on this board, although you can discuss anything you want in the Anything Goes section. The APFL is borderline since they do have a few pro teams, so that's why they have a section on this board. Plus Iowa is a great organization and they deserve a spot to be talked about along with other pro teams.

not to totally threadjack.. but the CPFL uses regilar football venues. I've often wondered if up north here where we have outdoor ice rinks (boards and all) that sit completely empty from oh..april-may... pull up 2 big sets of bleachers.. viola.. an outdoor indoor football game.

But the CPFL doesn't claim it's something it's not. I think for what they're doing, they've had quite a bit of success.

With the addition of the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) that brings the number of indoor leagues back up to 5.
