We're all playing it together, but dad still gets sidelined. Twins (8) like playing against each other and my oldest (15) swop's back and fourth between the wife and I. After playing golf, baseball, tennis and bowling this weekend my arm already hurts . . . lol. Thanks for tips on baseball, I batted well and jacked a few out of the park during my first game, but lost in 4-3 in the bottom of the third because I couldn't pitch. Your hints should help that. Golf was cool, started with some monster scores until I got the feel for it. Once that happened, I starting getting birdies. My tennis game needs some serious work, one of my 8 year olds handed it to me in three straight sets. Boxing, only played it once. Scored a knockout in the third. I felt good about it until once again I was shown up when my 8 year old KO'ed the dude in round one. Good stuff for family entertainment.

I'm pretty competitive and don't like to lose. So when I first got the Wii, I practiced while my daughter and Mom were sleeping. When we get a new Wii game, I do the same. So far I'm still king of the Wii in my house, and that's all that matters. Got a rep to keep up. By beating my daughter consistently she always wants to challenge me, so that's a good way to get them to want to play you more...everyone always wants to take on the kind of the hill. I still have no idea on how I beat my daughter 4 out of 7 times on Mario Kart, but I don't let her forget it and she's always on me to play more...lol.
The pitching tips should definitely help on baseball. As you get higher up in ratings, try not to throw the same pitch twice in a row as they catch on faster. As a pro with a 1200 rating, your pitching is what will get you wins as it is very tough to hit home runs at that level.
If you want to get real great at golf (-10 scores) fast, then create 3 more Mii characters and play 4 person golf...your Mii and the other 3 Mii's. That gives you 4 players on each hole and is great for practice on how to figure a hole out and stuff. There's one hole, hole 3 I think, that is a par 5 and a dog leg to the left. I don't know if you noticed or not, but if you look to the left of the tee, there is a small circular island fairway off to the left and if you can get your ball to land in there, then you can make the green in two shots and I usually get a lot of eagles on that hole. Even with the wind against you, you can still make that circular island fairway. Be careful with the wind with you as you may overshoot it and have to hit it just over 3/4th power. If you go for and don't make that island, you're out of bounds and its a 2 stroke penalty and you're right back at the tee...so practice it.
I posted some tips on tennis in some of the earlier threads. Tennis is really easy after a few games, you start to get a handle on it. Playing head to head isn't that fun as your opponent can exploit a weakness in the split screen by returning your serve where you can't get it, kind of sucks.

2398 on Wii Sports Tennis now, man it's hard. 2 more points to go.
Spent two hours on the Wii today. Yeah, I'm addicted.

2399 on Wii Sports Tennis. 1 more rating point to go, but that point will probably be harder to get than all of them so far. Getting to 2399 was a *****.

I think 2399 is the top score in Tennis since I've been unable to advance higher than that after 30 perfect games. I also went to www.wii-records.com and 2399 was the top ranking score listed. Man, now that I've finished Tennis I feel let down. I need another goal now, not sure what to move onto next, probably Bowling.

Got bored, so I played Tennis again and purposefully lost to go down in points so that I have to work my way back up. Went down to 2392 and now back at 2394. Only 5 more to go again. Sue me, I like the Tennis.

Back up to 2396, only 3 more to go again. After I get those 3 points back I'll create a new Mii and start tennis from the beginning just to see how fast I can take it all the way to the top.
Started on bowling now. I'm almost at 1300 again, but I need to work on my throwing. If I can perfect my curve I should be able to get to 2000 in bowling, but it will take a lot of practice.
We got Jenga (which I kick butt in for real) and Speed Racer racing game for the Wii, so those will be my next challenges to beat my daughter in.

Since I maxed out Tennis, I took another Mii and got that one up to 2000 points in 3 hours time. The next 399 points are a little more difficult, but I've already done it so I know I can do it again.
I've mostly been using the Wii Fit lately. I do a body test every day to measure my BMI and see my weight history. I'm finally under 25% BMI and in the normal range for body type. I've been doing the 10 minute Super Hula Hoop, man is that rough, quite a workout. Add on top of that 3 miles running a day, push ups and situps throughout the day (300 total each), 100 stairs, and weights. Throw on top of that even that I've been eating hand sized portions every two hours and my day is extremely dominated by working out and eating right. It's a habit now since I've been doing it for 5 months and gets easier every day. One day I'll get where I want to be fitness-wise, but I still have a long way to go. My next goal is to get my 1 1/2 run time down from 12+ minutes to under 10:24 minutes, so I have to shave off 2 minutes. I've been doing sprint training (my 3 mile runs) to try to improve that. I definitely have more energy and have been doing things I haven't done in years thanks to it.
The Wii has been great as far as motivation, the aerobics, strength training, and bmi body tests. Some of the best money I ever spent was this Wii. Never had a video game system before, but the whole family loves it and now I can't imagine not having it. My Mom even has one now in her house for her to do the Wii Fit on, so every generation is getting into it.

Know this has nothing to do with Wii sports, but my little cousin and I have the Spider-man friend or foe Game just about beat, have like two more levels to go. I just got the black suit and had a comic geek mark out moment.
Now I am looking for a two player game that I can play with her, shes eleven that isnt too hard and is mostly a button masher. Any ideas?

Mario Kart Wii
My daughter was kicking my tuckus in Mario Kart Wii, so as much as I disliked it for all its lunacy I decided to make an effort to get better since I can't stand losing and I want to be sure to pass my poor sportsmanship off to my daughter so that the family legacy continues. Satuday night I played it for two hours while she was sleeping and researched tips and tricks online. Sunday it paid off and I beat her in a Grand Prix event for the first time, winning 3 out of 4 races. Finally I was able to beat her. To make sure I stay on top Sunday night I played for 2 more hours while she was sleeping and researched even more tips and tricks online. I'm getting better and for the average person playing it now I can probably beat their tuckus most of the time. The above average players though, I have a loooong way to go after looking at what they can do online. After doing all this the past two nights I've found I actually like Mario Kart Wii now. It is still major lunacy, but if you can get out in front early and maintain your lead then it's not too bad at all. I turn down the sound all the way as well so I all I hear is my Wii Remote making sounds and you can hear when somethings coming easier. I use the Wii Steering Wheel and I'm all over the place with that thing, I have to stand up and use most of the living room, it's ridiculous. If my daughter took a vid of it without me knowing and shared it I'd probably be laughed at on youtube for quite some time. It's just a crazy game and at my age I need all my concentration to do good in it. I don't know how the kids do it, my thumb is killing me from pushing down the 2 button. I'm hooked now though. Pretty soon I'll have to figure out how to hook our Wii online so we can beat down people worldwide.

I have to stand up and use most of the living room, it's ridiculous. HA! For lucky, you never saw me playing Wii Tennis! ahha...it's more than ridiculous. XD But Wii is cool, i think it's the beggining of a new generation of video games. Looking forward to the video games with a virtual reality! ^^

Wii Tennis is still my all time favorite and I'm all over the room with that too, but at least that makes sense since it's tennis. With Mario Kart I should be sitting down like a normal person, but I just can't do it. I should probably stop using the wheel and go to a classic controller or something.
Virtual reality will be cool, too bad I'll never live to see it.
