Like any other arena I've ever been in, some fans are respectful and nice, and respect the positive manner in which Section O supports our team. And then there's "those" fans. I honestly believe, however that some of them actually thought they were being nice. I'm convinced the Outlaws can't last a full season in the Sportsplex. It took them till FRIDAY to sell out.. really... wow. Riggs called a **** game down by 9 with 1:25 left and you go for it on 4th down from the 2 when your kicker was 4-5 from that range (PAT's) all night was plain stupid. He had the "can't kick" in his head and it cost us. ... Murphy got hurt in the first series and the d-line ran out of gas and the Outlaws had better coaching and more in the tank at the end. Outlaws on the field are the class of the league, Coach O went out of his way to thank us for coming as did Dixon ..most of the fans were nice, BNDC, really.. what will we whine about.. of hell man I don't know maybe we'll take your job and **** about a cheap owner and the refs.. and now a small rant... if you're a sunshine and rainbows Storm fan.. stop reading now, and just stop before sending me hatemail, I'm just venting. Season of Redemption.. really? way to make us fans look like jackwads. We could all take a page from Billings on how to overcome adversity.. tornado rips the roof off your house.. remodel your practice facility and cram 1500 in there, then win the 'ship... don't have your players making stupid ass songs (never loose at home.. we've lost three times the last 2 years idiots) the week before a championship game then put them up in a crappy ass hotel. Why did we even dress Rob if you weren't going to let him try to let him do his job. Did Treasure get hurt? Otherwise I saw him in on 2 plays. solid roster spot choice(if he wasn't hurt) On the bright side.. we got lost looking for a liquor store.. wound up driving by Montanibus Medical Marijuana .. then find the one liquor store that I know where it's at, next to the Metra, it was left unharmed by the tornado, it had a shot bar inside it. 2 shots (not for me, i was driving) for $6 keep both glasses and get a free t-shirt.. they also had $.50 jello shots. :-) All in all a great trip with great friends, for a great group of guys.. Didn't end like I wanted, but I think any fan that has watched his team go 4-2 in league championships over the last seven years ought to be able to hold his head up regardless.

I'm glad you had a good time.
Storm will be back better than ever next year, you can be sure of that.

TB wasn't playing like the TB I've seen win 4 titles.. when the team needed him to carry them on his aging 34 year old back, he couldn't do it, and I think he knew it, you could see it in his eyes as he cut his spats off.. he was disappointed in himself.

Bouncer, I am not sure what you meant after you mentioned me in your post, but I can say I saw the TB "no interviews" comment and chose not to rag on everything abuot the Storm. Just what I thought might be excuses for why this Billings championship was unfair to SF.

no excuses.. Billings had gas left in the 2nd half and we didn't. you don't get shut out in the 4th quarter in a championship game and win very often, certainly not in indoor football. The unfairness of the whole weekend is that the IFL needs qualified IT people.. can't handle two audio streams with video my *donkey*... and that more Billings fans didn't get to see their team dismantle us. I'm sure they would have enjoyed rubbing it in our faces. That's the good news about the game being in the Sportsplex meant there were fewer of "those" fans around.

I agree that the IFL needs to step up the video/audio broadcasting of games. Roste got upset, rightfully so, about the conditions and made a comment about it during pregame on air and was forced to apologize about it. Many of us turned the volume off the B2 feed and just listened to Roste's audio feed from the Storm website.

Bouncer, you got a shout out from Roste.
I also did see you on the camera a few times when the Storm was on D, and I saw a Billings guy in front of you moving his arms in your faces in the be quiet motion. I thought that was lame on his part. Just be louder when the Billings D is out there, don't put your arms in others faces.

Roste was about as upset as I've ever seen him some 30 minutes after they went off the air. It's just one little jab either the league had to take at us to show us that they are content being 2nd class, and 2nd rate.
We demand better in Sioux Falls... that's why we whine and cry so dang much is because we expect perfection, from our team, our coaches our radio broadcasts, video.. we expect it all to work. Hell I would have volunteered my time, there was a way to make it work, they just didn't want to actually work at it. The laziness in this league starts at the top, wears a nice suit, has a great salary and a huge travel budget. 6 hours of Tommy Benizio's salary would have paid for temporarily upgrading the upload bandwidth from the sportsplex for the month during the playoffs.. but, oh we might have had to pick up the phone and call someone and spend a couple bones, OH the humanity...LAZY

Funny story...well there are a ton of them from this trip.. but with regards to Roste. My crew went downtown for dinner we're about half way through the entree's and my wife is like staring behind me. Sure enough the team had it's evening meal Friday night right next door to where we did. the players had to walk past the patio we were dining on to get back to the bus so we said hi to the players that recognized us. so, long story short.. the players have all made it down the street and around the corner when the coaches and staff come out, and are equally confused on which way to go (the bus had dropped them of out front) so when we politely pointed them in the right direction they all stopped by and said hi. Roste stopped and talked to us for several minutes. He and i haven't always seen eye to eye on some things, but I still think the world of him as a person and a broadcaster. I'd like to kid him and tell him that's why we traveled so much this year is because I can't stand listening to him I'd be lying though.

Kick an onside with success rate not real high, hold them and they kick a field goal to go back up 9. I like our chances 4th and goal on the 1 yard line for the Championship. Our O-line flat out didn't get it done. I thought it was a fun song that created some excitement during a lack luster championship week. Maybe it wasn't your type of beat but thoguht it was very creative coming from a few of the players. Billings was the one who put us up in the crappy, no air conditioned hotel. They also had us scheduled to eat pre-game at some hole but luckily our owner flipped the bill to eat at Texas Roadhouse. I am extremely excited for the 2011 season. I am already hearing of many committments as well as some Free agents wanting to come in. Should be a fun off-season.. GO Storm!!!

we were down 9.. we needed a TD, an onside kick recovery, a FG and a PAT to win.. did it matter what order the td and the FG came in? You might not get that close to kick again, should have taken advantage of it at that point, I think.
the song was fine, just kinda rubbed me the wrong way after the fact...
AC seems to be an issue in Billings in July, our room at the Hampton Inn had ac issues...You have to know that a home team like Billings is going to attempt to get any advantage over us they can get and perhaps have a backup plan... just like in my world.. you can never have too many backups :

When the E-ville Bluecats played in Sf in the playoffs before UB2, I was talking to the E-ville coach John Hart after the game, and a group of Storm fans came by chanting "coach is a crybaby". I imagined that would have rubbed alot of people the wrong way but he just ignored them.

I like the call to go for it on 4th and goal at the 2 myself. Give credit to Billings, they stopped them when they had to.
