I think, and Bandit fans will tell you, that the Bandits suffer for two main reasons.
1. Bob Scott runs a bare bones operation. Bandit players are "on the hook", so to speak, for things that other teams simply pay for.
2. Omaha and Sioux Falls... success on, and for the most part, off the field is a mere 70 miles, roughly, in either direction and makes Sioux City a tough sell. It's a great but fickle fan base.. the moment things start to go bad they'll turn on anyone.
Would they do OK in the APFL, perhaps.. but then again Bob could potentially further reduce his costs, get his 3000 fans a game and rake in the dough while the play on the field remains lackluster.

I have to say the team had potential this year. We can argue why the coach gave up on the team at the end of the year, but the team that fumbled a snap to lose to SF was a tough team.
