Looking at a broader spectrum than just this year, who do you think is the worst NFL owner?

as a Broncos fan...Pat Bowlen, hands down. Ha ha, I'm loving the Broncos fans misery lately. I think most fans are unhappy with their favorite team's owners at some point or other. The Detroit owner has to be up there, he really messed things up there for many years by sticking with Matt Millen at GM longer than he should've. This year is the first year in a long time that Detroit has shown signs of life.

He went a long way on the defensive side of the ball in upgrading their ferocity.

Wilf in MN, soon to be in LA if the voters don't approve a new stadium, which is very likely

IMO, Snyder... He has been trying to buy a championship for a long while now and isn't retaining the coaching staff. Also, he seems to be more of a fan than an owner. Being buddy buddy with the players won't get you anywhere. They will love you as an owner, but when you develop relationships that you cannot (or have a hard time) part with, your team just becomes stagnant.

Bowlen redeemed himself some by hiring John Fox. Fox is a good coach. See, I'm the other way on Fox. I always thought Fox was a great coach until this year. Great coaches don't go 2-14. Let me clarify that, I've seen Super Bowl-Winning Coaches do that, but only when they've first taken over a team and cleaned house (such as Jimmy Johnson in Dallas). Once great coaches have had a team two years going they don't go 2-12. I saw something yesterday where Fox was being interviewed in a car about the Broncos position and he was selling himself as a great motivator. A great motivator would be able to squeeze out more than 2 wins in any given season no matter what...just my humble opinion here. I can see Fox having some good seasons, but I don't see him bringing the Broncos a Super Bowl championship...and isn't that the goal when you hire a coach??? If I was an owner, my goal is to win the Super Bowl. I want someone like a Bill Parcells/Mike Tomlin/Tom Coughlin type of defensive coordinator on the rise, someone who has some fire when needed (a motivator) and pays attention to details (a micromanager to some extent, but one who also lets his assistants have ownership). I used to think Fox was that type of guy, but not anymore. He's also a retread. Retreads have little success of winning a Super Bowl. I know Vermeil and Shannahan have done it, but not many others. Most Super Bowl winning coaches come from promotions where they were a coordinator and win the thing as a head coach for the first time. Sorry, I wouldn't be hiring Fox to win a title for me, because I don't believe he can do it. I also believe the same about Norv Turner and hated when my Chargers got rid of Shottenheimer for him. Shottenheimer may not have won it either, but at least he was a disciplinarian and he got the Chargers turned around...if he had been allowed to remain after that 14-2 season who know what would've happened. Turner's won some playoff games, but some of those he was lucky to even be in the playoffs after being 4-8...ridiculous...he has no motivational skills and only the talent on the team has saved him.

The worst owner though is far and away Al Davis. He has to go.
