Omaha stuns Storm on final play

OMAHA - The Storm had their unbeaten Indoor Football League season end Saturday night in stunning fashion as Omaha got a 46-yard touchdown on the game's final play to win 41-37 in the teams' regular-season finale.
Sioux Falls (13-1) led 37-23 after three quarters but was outscored 18-0 in the final quarter. The Beef (9-5) got within 37-35 with 1:21 left on a 32-yard TD run by quarterback James McNear but McNear's potential game-tying conversion pass was intercepted by Donta Moore.
Sioux Falls got the ball and after three plays faced a fourth-and-19 from its 11-yard line with just seconds remaining. Parker Douglass' 54-yard field-goal attempt fell short and was returned by Courtney Grexby, who lateraled it to Diezeas Calbert, who completed the 46-yard TD play.
The Storm never trailed in the game although Omaha did tie it at 23 early in the third quarter.
The Storm got a 24-yard field goal from Douglass with no time remaining to lead 23-16 at halftime. Dixon was 14-for-19 for 117 yards and two TDs in the half - one each to James Terry and Dusty Hovorka. James Jones ran for a score. For Omaha, McNear was 7-for-13 with two TDs in the half, both to Maurice Avery.
Dixon finished 16-for-27 for 168 yards. Hovorka had two TD catches, for 11 and 43 yards.
McNear rushed 12 times for 76 yards and he was 19-for-30 for 195 yards. Avery had seven catches for 85 yards. Omaha had 286 total yards, while Sioux Falls had 228.
Omaha had give the Storm their closest game of the season when the two met April 3 in Sioux Falls, the Storm winning 48-38.
The Storm have a first-round bye in the playoffs and will host a playoff game June 25.
