I am excited that I will be heading to this game this weekend, the 3rd away game this year for me (Chicago, Green Bay, Bloomington). I have been to the city a few times in the past, but normally just passing through, and never for a game. Anyone from Bloomington (or that has traveled to Bloomington) that has any advice of places to eat, stay, or things to do while I am there? Or advice of where to sit in the "Coliseum"?

I've been there at least once (pretty bad when you start to forget away games...I think it was only once though).
I sat near the front row around the 5 yard line and it was nice, but I like to sit as close as possible. The stadium is very nice, no really bad views or anything, nice scoreboard, the works. If not parking in the lot, parking on the street can be found not too far away (we were pretty lucky at least). Across from the stadium was a nice restaurant/brewery, but I can't remember the name (this was 4 or 5 years ago). Small city, but quaint. There's probably a ton of more people on here that could tell you more than that. There seemed to be a lot of eating choices around though, we just chose the place next to the stadium so we could park and then walk over after eating. I did like the arena though and the Extreme do play well at home.

Coming into the game La Crosse (4-8) is ranked #16 and Bloomington (8-4) is ranked #5.
Can La Crosse get a win at Bloomington or will the Extreme continue their winning streak against the Spartans?

I went to the IFL All Star game in Bloomington back in 2007 and the facility was very nice, i really liked the restaurant overlooking the field from the endzone. After seeing more IFL arenas it fits with the newer arenas with a few extras in the Luxury boxes and the before mentioned restaurant + what BC said.

Quick summary of my trip Friday night:
My Dad and I enjoyed the game in Bloomington, even though the Spartans lost. We ended up sitting in the 4th row, right next to the Spartans bench, at about the 10 yard line. It was good to talk to some of the guys, and see/hear some of the "bench discussion".
The Coliseum is very nice, but was very hard to hear anything through their PA system. The fans were all nice that we talked to, and they had a pretty good crowd of about 4200. The replay board was good, but they only really used it on plays where Bloomington scored. I wish they had done it at other times (see if a penalty was real, Spartans scores, etc).
We booked a hotel through Hotwire, and ended up staying at the Candlewood suites in Normal for about $50. I tried first to talk to the Bloomington front office to see if they had any sponsor discounts, but they didn't. (La Crosse has multiple hotels with discounts on game day, by the way... for anyone coming to town next year)
The Spartans didn't have their OC at the game to call plays, had a lot of injuries causing them to have to play WRs as DBs and have someone different holding on the kick attempts. Even with that they never gave up and had a decent comeback in the second half. They had a few long kick returns called back on penalties, and late in the game also recovered an onside kick only to have to re-kick because of a penalty.

Kind of sad that PA System has deteriorated, stadium is fairly new. Good to hear fans are still nice there.
I'm glad you both had a good time, I still enjoy road trips to new locales.
