Ridiculous. Getting upset over the opposing coach playing catch on the field after the game???...those Amarillo coaches need to grow up.

Snakebit: Late fumble sinks 0-5 Venom

It was hard to tell what was more disappointing about the Amarillo Venom on Saturday night, yet another heartbreaking last-second loss or a postgame verbal altercation between Amarillo special teams coach Jarrett Hicks and Allen head coach Chris MacKeown in the tunnel at Cal Farley Coliseum.
The snake-bit Venom found another way to lose, falling to the Allen Wranglers, 52-51, in front of 2,635 fans.
After taking a 51-50 lead with 27 seconds to play, Venom quarterback X'Zavier Bloodsaw fumbled the snap - which was a tad to the left - on the ensuing 2-point conversion attempt. The ball fell at the feet of Allen defensive back Frankie Solomon, who picked it up near the 5-yard line and raced into the end zone untouched for two points.
The Venom could not recover the on-side kick attempt, and Allen quarterback Kewan Dewberry kneeled down on the next play to run out the remaining seconds and keep Amarillo winless at 0-5.
"To have victory snatched away from you at the last minute is something I've never experienced as a coach," Venom head coach Rodney Blackshear said. "You go from exuberance, calling a good play and guys executing ... then you go for two and fumble it and they score ... that's never happened to me. There are no words I can use to describe how I'm feeling right now."
Amarillo took the lead at 51-50 on a clutch 24-yard touchdown pass from Bloodsaw to wide receiver DuVaughn Flagler.
Inconsistent quarterback play again plagued Amarillo as Bloodsaw took over for starter Andrew Carchich in the second quarter.
The pair combined to throw four picks - two each.
"We're just not getting it done at the (quarterback) position," Blackshear said. "There are too many guys at the other positions that are making plays to allow the quarterback to be the question mark of this team. That's very disappointing to me.
"We're playing close games, but what do you fix? Am I jinxed? I don't know."
Following the game in the tunnel between the two locker rooms, security guards and two Amarillo policeman separated players from both teams.
The most vocal verbal confrontation was between Hicks and MacKeown, who lives in Amarillo.
According to MacKeown, there was a disagreement between himself, Hicks and Amarillo defensive coordinator Sammy Walker over whether MacKeown could play catch with a football with his daughter on the Venom field.
Wrangler players and Venom players came out of their respective locker rooms during the fracas, which was verbal and not physical - primarily yelling back and forth - and no punches were thrown. However, security guards and Amarillo policeman did intercede.
