IFL Computer Rankings going into Week 6 The OtB rankings are based on points scored, win/loss record, yards, fumbles, interceptions, penalties, and a few other statistics. For more OtB analysis, go here: outsidetheboards.com/?page_id=365The Massey rankings goes in-depth into stats, margin of victory, etc. For more Massey analysis, go here: www.masseyratings.com/rate.php?lg=iflAnother computer ranking system is the Bradley-Terry rankings, which go off a formula based on who you win and lose against. The server which hosts the Bradley-Terry rankings is being upgraded so those rankings are not available and will return next week. The next step I am working on for my OtB rankings is having them better take into account the opponents faced (adding a "schedule difficulty" when doing the ranking).
This is needed so that teams like Wichita or Nebraska are not hurt as much because of them being against a team like Sioux Falls that they were basically expected to lose to anyway. And it will help on the other end where teams haven't faced anyone good yet, but have won their games.

Great job on your rankings Micah. I'm looking forward to seeing your changes for next week as well.
Hopefully we can have all three computer rankings next week.

I have a formula somewhere that calculates that (I use to run rankings for the UIF) it was a strength of schedule calculator based upon the record of each team's opponent and the record of the opponents of each teams' opponent(if that makes sense). I used it in my computer rankings for this exact reason. If you're interested in seeing it (and if I can find it again) I'll send it to you.

I have an idea of how to make this work within the data I already am calculating. But, it that doesn't work I will let you know.
