Offensive Player of the Week: Donovan Porterie, QB, Fairbanks Grizzlies
Porterie put on a show this weekend against the Timberwolves, throwing 14-19 for 245 yards and 7 touchdowns. Donovan has been a huge part in the Grizzlies tough offensive front this season. Recently tallying up his 30th touchdown for the season, Porterie is at 53.3% passing on the year and looking to build on those numbers in the playoffs.
Defensive Player of the Week: Tommy Chavis, DL, Sioux Falls Storm
Leading his team in Sacks, Tommy Chavis is a QB's worst nightmare coming off of the snap. With 5.5 sacks on the year and 41 total tackles Chavis makes sure to participate in every play. Week 16 in particular was a good showing for Chavis as he recorded 5 tackles (2 for loss), 1 forced fumble, 1 sack, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown, naming him the Week 16 Defensive Player of the Week.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Travis Atter, K, Wyoming Cavalry
It is not many games where a kicker makes his mark on the scoreboard, but for Atter this weekend was quite different. He went 2-3 on FGs from 33 and 41 yards and 5-5 on extra points, scoring a total of 11 points and achieving Special Teams Player of the Week.
