IFL Rankings for Week 16
In the Top 10 Poll Sioux Falls remained in first place (no surprise) with their customary max 150pts. Green Bay solidified their hold on second place (only one voter didn't have them in second). Fairbanks moved into third place, Colorado fell to fourth place, and Tri-Cities rounds out the top five in fifth place. Colorado, Omaha, and Chicago all dropped after losses last week. For the second straight week the voting between voters differed greatly, but the averages still came out nicely.
In the Overall Rankings, Sioux Falls remains #1 (again no surprise, probably the best team ever), while Green Bay solidified their possession of #2. Fairbanks and Bloomington moved into a tie for #3. Omaha fell to #5. Fairbanks made the biggest rise up the standings (+5 spots, one of the biggest jumps of the year), while Omaha, Colorado, and Chicago took the biggest drop (-2 spots each). Omaha's pattern of falling after a big rise is still intact. Reading is in the playoffs, but resides at #13 due to unimpressed computer results. Bricktown was moved to the bottom of the overall rankings since they released their paid "pro" players and brought in semi-pro players instead (which has resulted in blowout losses). Even Arizona which has some suspect players blew them out, so to the bottom they go as they can't beat anyone right now.
Thanks to all who voted in the Top 10 Poll. Keep the votes coming each and every week and anyone else that would like to chime in is welcome to do so as well.
Bricktown's situation: In the OtB Computer Rankings, Bricktown's games using replacement players were eliminated from the stats to give a truer representation of the rankings since the replacement team blowouts weren't true reflections of an opposing team's prowess. Bricktown's regular team quit playing after ten games and their rankings right now are at #19 in the OtB Rankings. The Massey and Bradley-Terry Computer Rankings are still counting the Bricktown replacement games in their system. In the Massey Rankings, they go by final scores basically in their calculations, so the opponents of Bricktown's replacement players may have gained some unfair ground on other teams. In the Bradley-Terry Rankings the only thing considered is who you win and lose against, so the rankings aren't really affected there since if Bricktown had folded a forfeit loss counts as much as a regular loss.
