Something I wront over on OSC, that I'll thow up here for discussion
the IFL would also be wise.. (very wise) to stick to their self imposed deadlines this season, take the field at a minus 3 (or 4) teams net (Bricktown, Arizona, Wenatchee, La Crosse, and Richmond are gone (I am not ruling out the demise of Fairbanks either), add Cedar Rapids and Binghampton) and get their first stable season in the books before trying to revive previously used markets, or expand further...

You can be sure that there will be further expansion, and it's needed at this level the way many teams drop like flies. The only thing to get rid of is the expansion with owners you know going in isn't going to work out (like Arizona last year). If the league would put the effort into helping new teams get off the ground, the way they do when they try to find investors when teams are about to go under (i.e. Fairbanks last year), then some of these failures may have been avoided. Lets face it, no matter the standards, teams will still be folding up shop next year without any further expansion beyond Cedar Rapids and Binghamton. I'm not saying that justifies letting losers in, but to just say no more expansion right now doesn't make sense. If there are some viable markets with good backing, there's no reason to not let them in if travel is not an issue.

with that footprint, we're back down to the guts of the 8 team UIF by next season...
my guess is we see a half dozen WTF expansion teams, which all make OKC and Arizona look professionally run. What we're witnessing could be the last and final IFL season.
TexXx's 2013 Predictions...
Pacific Everett, Washington (relocated Seattle Timberwolves) - Gone to another league, travel Tri-Cities Fever - Gone to another league, travel
... Lonestar Allen Wranglers - Gone to another league (LSFL), travel
... Mountain West Colorado Ice Wyoming Cavalry
... Great Plains Nebraska Danger Omaha Beef Sioux Falls Storm Wichita Wild
... Great Lakes Bloomington Extreme Chicago Slaughter Green Bay Blizzard Cedar Rapids Titans
... Atlantic Lehigh Valley Steelhawks - Gone to another league, travel Reading Express - Gone to another league, travel

Update: Removed "Great Lakes Division" tag for Cedar Rapids. Unless the IFL adds a significant amount of expansion teams, I doubt the current divisional alignment will remain as is.

Removed potential expansion markets since it looks like Teri Carr's statement of 16 teams for 2012 is final.
All that's left to announce is divisional alignment for 2012.
