Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League announced today the 2012 schedule for the league’s fourth season. The regular season kicks off the weekend of February 25, 2012 and culminates with the start of the playoffs on the weekend of June 23, 2012 with the championship game taking place on Saturday July 7, 2012.
“The IFL is stronger than ever,” said Cedar Rapids Titans General Manager Chris Kokalis. “We have managed to keep only the very best and strongest of our teams, helping to create a very stable group of teams for 2012. Fans are going to be treated to some great football this season.”
“As we gear up for our 13th year of Professional Indoor Football in Wyoming, we are looking forward to hosting our age-old rivals, the Sioux Falls Storm and the Omaha Beef,” said Wyoming Cavalry co-owner Argeri Layton. “We are also excited to welcome back the Tri-Cities Fever to the Casper Events Center. Our fans will be treated to the I-25 showdown when the Colorado Ice come to town, and we know that New Mexico and Everett will provide our fans with competitive and fun games.”
“Even though we are playing with fewer teams this year, I am confident in all of the owner s in this league,” said Lehigh Valley Steelhawks General Manager Mike Clark. “I am happy to have them all as my playing partners and am excited to see the release of the 2012 schedule that will see us playing a group of new teams our fans have yet to see.”
“We have a very even, very competitive schedule set for the 2012 season,” said IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio. “I commend the individual teams and arenas, as well as the scheduling committee, for putting together what I believe is our best schedule yet.”
