Here is part of it, but it's pretty long. Click on the link to read more..
I'm very pleased to get to introduce to you Coach Brian Schmidt. I sat down with Coach Schmidt this week to talk about the Kentucky Monsters. I went into the interview as a Monsters' fan and came away a big Coach Schmidt fan as well. Schmidt is the new Head Coach of the Kentucky Monsters, after serving last year as Offensive Coordinator. Our interview was interrupted before it began by a waiter who had never heard of the UIFL and was curious.
I got to see first hand how the coach can recruit fans as well as great players. By the end of our meeting, there was a new Monsters fan in Ohio, and an engrossed football chick who could've sat there until 3am discussing football with the Coach.
The Kentucky Monsters blew the competition away with their offense last year and are looking to dominate on both sides of the ball in the 2012 season. With Coach Schmidt at the helm, things are about to get very exciting in Kentucky.

An Interview with Coach Brian Schmidt - Part 1
I have to start with the question on every UIFL fan's mind. Do you feel the UIFL will be able to pick up another team in time for the 2012 season?
If it there's a chance it can be done, Andrew Haines (UIFL President)and Jared Lorenzen (UIFL Commissioner) will be able to do it. I believe that if it's possible at all, those two will make it happen.
The indoor football landscape as a whole is more interesting than ever. This league also has a model in place where teams can both make money and be successful as a team. Teams in other leagues are seeing that and paying attention. They are looking at us, seeing what we did last year, and where we are going as a league. They know they can come here and have success.
How do you feel adding an unknown team will potentially affect the conference?
Bringing in a new team will affect the conference but there is a lot different about this year already. We can work with it. Once we start playing, we will get film and go from there. Our system is in place.
