It was pretty wild (not Wichita) to see a future NFL hall of famer still play at a high level next to some greats of the indoor game. I'm not a fan of Owens or this whole skirting of the rules to sign him, but it was an interesting game for sure. I don't believe he's changed his egotistical ways, not one bit, but he managed to stay under control last night. It would've been interesting to see what might've happened if he hadn't had a good game though. His 3 catches for 47 yards and 3 TDs were all in the first half, but if he had been shut out in the first half we may have seen a flare up. One thing I can't slam Owens for is his work ethic, he is motivated to play at a high level and is always in shape. He was even blocking last night, which does show a certain realization on his part that he's a long shot to get back into the NFL, so he's giving it his all.
Benizio was beside himself with undisguised joy when he briefly joined the broadcast booth with Drew Pearson in the second half. Whether getting Owens into the league will translate to bigger and better things in the future for the IFL remains to be seen, but they are definitely getting a lot of publicity from this in the short term.
