CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- People in Eastern Iowa love football season. But will it work indoors?
The Cedar Rapids Titans played to a full house at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena Saturday. People came from all over Eastern Iowa. Many were football fans, but some did admit they were there just to have a good time.
"This is the first football game, got a big crowd ready to go," said Margene Howard, a ticket-taker at the Titans game
A few thousand people piled in with high hopes for their new team.
"We will see how tonight goes, and see if season tickets are in the future," said Chris Anderson, of Cedar Rapids.
It may not be your normal Football season, but the game day rituals are still the same.
"It's something to do during the winter and its indoor so it's warm and you’re not in the cold during the fall. So I am excited about that," said Brinkley Braden, of Marion.
Some said they have been waiting for this day for quite some time.
"It's about time we have a football team," said Braden.
"I love it, I'm so happy about it. I have been waiting for years," said Fred Mishler, of Cedar Rapids, adding "you can never get too much football."
Many hope that Saturday's Titans game-day excitement becomes a regular choice in Eastern Iowa for the entertainment dollar.
"Having the arena football league here in town will give us something to do, it will give us football. I know a lot of people are starving for football and it's nice to have this to look forward to on the weekends," said Anderson. "Being able to watch the game being there with your fellow community and enjoying it," said Aaron Cavalier, of Fairfax.
The Titans won 32-13. If you would like schedule or ticket information you can visit

I heard about a guy buying great seats the day that single games went on sale only to get to the game and find out the seats were sold to season ticket holders. The team sold the same seats twice. The guy had to sit in the last row in the corner of the arena instead of the 4th row on the 20 yard line.
I hope this kind of thing was just an isolated incident. I watched the game on MC-22 and the Titans looked good.

Does anyone know how many people were at the game? i know they said it was a sellout but don't know how many fans it would hold for the game.
