I listen to Coach Lee's weekly radio show quite a bit and he does a great job of promoting women's football. On his radio show this week he went over all the in's and out's of the LFL and how the owner/commissioner (Mitchell Mortaza) orchestrates things to play out how he wants them to. Despite that, Coach Lee was able to coach his expansion Las Vegas Sin to a perfect 4-0 record, ruffling a lot of feathers along the way. Because he didn't kowtow to the commish, he was let go after the season. A lot of things I thought were happening in the league, he confirmed on his radio show yesterday. Coach Lee coaches women's 11-on-11 outdoor football as well and brought his knowledge of coaching over to the LFL and had great success. A welcome change from many of the other coaches who don't want to actually teach fundamentals, but to scream and yell instead. Oh well, the good people never seem to last very long in the LFL for some reason (Mortaza).

LAS VEGAS HEAD COACH LEE FIRED AFTER ONE SEASON
By Jim Wallin
LAS VEGAS, NV., (March 19, 2012/LFL360.com) — The LFL League Office today announced the dismissal of Las Vegas Sin Head Coach Dion Lee, effective immediately. Despite the expansion franchise’s historical run to within one win of a Western Conference Championship and Lingerie Bowl appearance, irreconcilable philosophical differences emerged between league executive leadership and Lee that ultimately culminated in the final decision being exercised.
LFL Founder and Chairman Mitchell S. Mortaza released the following statement on the move, stating, “While I appreciate the excitement Coach Lee thought he created around the inaugural season of the Las Vegas Sin, the real excitement and seeds of success were planted by the incredible performances of Nikki Johnson, Cassandra Strickland, Sunshine Uli and their teammates. After an evaluation of how poorly the off the field and on the field guidance was handled by Coach Lee and his assistants, we at the league office feel strongly that the LFL should place one of our truly coveted franchises in better hands in terms of coaching and guidance.”
Lee’s release marks the second off-season coaching move, following the recent release of Toronto Triumph Head Coach Don Marchione. Unlike Marchione, who Mortaza says may be considered for an advisory role in Lingerie Football League Canada, there are strong indications that retaining Lee in a similar role is not being considered.
In November, the LFL fired then-Sin Assistant Head Coach Anthony Bartley due to multiple league policy violations. Now, his boss finds himself on the outside looking in as well.
The league expects to name a new head coach for the second-year franchise in the coming weeks.
