It was a dark and stormy night... literally, with tornado watches, sever storm warnings all over the region, including in Grand Island, yet a good crowd comes out for the Nebraska Danger game against the Wichita Wild. New acquisition, linebacker Steve Allen, shows off his (almost) team color shoes and socks. Great pic's again.
Yeah, I like his socks. I still wish they would've stuck with the lime green jerseys from last year though.
That is a nice crowd that showed up despite the nasty weather. It's good to see locals supporting the team like that.

A guy and his son from Valentine, NE went to the cancelled Husker spring game, then went to Grand Island to watch the Danger (they sat in front of me). I wonder how many of the people there that did the same? At least they got to see some football on Saturday. I miss the old uniforms too. The new ones look too Oregon-ish.

Oregon-ish? How so, because of the trim and lettering?
I do like the trim and lettering style.

Oregon-ish? How so, because of the trim and lettering? I do like the trim and lettering style. If he means "non traditional", I understand... but this is "Indoor football" and "non traditional" tends to be the norm. The trim and lettering style are pretty cool, but I wish the player numbers stood out a little more. From 40 yards it's a pretty tough call. As for the departure from the lime green shoulders, I do miss that. I hated it the first time I saw it, but learned to appreciate it pretty quickly (remember, this is indoor football). As a Denver Bronco fan, I missed the orange jerseys when they switched in the 90's, but still loved the new style. Now, it's the best of both worlds with them returning to orange in a reversal of colors in the newer style this coming season. Anyway, the new uni's are tres cool, but the lime green is a hallmark. Just last night, the guy on NTV Sports (KHGI-TV) referred to them as the "men in green" while the predominantly navy blue uni's were running up and down the field. To a non-fan, that had to leave them scratching their noggins. =0)

It would be better if they fill in the numbers with green because they are hard to see sometimes. Allen last year had non-traditional uniforms, but the more I see them on YouTube, the more I think they look like the Cowboys now.
