No statement by the APFL yet on what happened with the disagreement and war of words that led to the 26 May Mid-Missouri at Cheyenne game being canceled. It may be some time before we hear from the APFL on the matter, if ever.
Reading between the lines of this article though, it looks like Cheyenne has moved down to the APFL's developmental APFL2 league as the rest of their games are now against APFL2 teams.

Warriors’ winning ways

CHEYENNE - The offense rolled. The defense was stifling. And, more importantly, the Cheyenne Warriors indoor football team is in the win column.
With the offense racking up 232 total yards and the defense allowing just 84, the Warriors cruised to a 73-7 win over the Northern Colorado Wolfpack on Saturday night.
“We’ve got a lot of talent here, man, a lot of talent. We’ve just got to play together,” defensive lineman Cedric Maugh said. “If we play together, that’s what’s going to happen.”
Originally, Cheyenne was slated to play Mid-Missouri, but the Outlaws backed out of the game due to disagreements with the American Professional Football League.
That prompted Cheyenne coach Damon Ware and general manager Alton Walker to seek out a replacement team.
The Wolfpack agreed to fill the void despite missing a bulk of their team due to the APFL2’s bye week.
The opponent might have changed but the Warriors showed no signs of letting up.
Brennen Sargent’s one-yard touchdown plunge in the first quarter got the offense rolling. By halftime, the Warriors were up 40-7, meaning they’d scored more points in one half than they had in any other game this season.
Sargent was a big reason the offense clicked. He finished with 57 yards on eight carries to go along with four touchdowns. The Warriors running game finished with 105 yards.
“It was all our line, our receivers having great blocking the outside, giving me a lot of lanes to run,” Sargent said. “Cody (Bryant), our other running back, was running the ball well and we were moving it so we just kept running it.”
Sargent wasn’t alone in his superstar effort.
Newly acquired wide receiver Julian Banks hauled in three passes, all three of which went for touchdowns, for 65 yards. Quarterback Isaac Chacon threw a season-high five touchdowns for 127 yards.
Lemans Casimier had four first half interceptions, including picks to end the first and second quarters. Cornerback Jamaal Johnson also had two interceptions.
Maugh scored a defensive touchdown in the second quarter on a high snap into the end zone.
As a unit, Cheyenne’s defense gave up just 84 yards, 41 of which came on a pass with under 12 seconds left in the game.
“We’ve gotten steadily better week after week,” coach Damon Ware said.
“We played a weaker opponent tonight, but it was good to see us finish our blocks, finish our routes, catch the ball, get as much yards after catch as we could and that means a lot to our guys just to have that kind of success. I think this will do dividends for us going forward.”
The victory was sweet. The fact it was the franchise’s first made it even sweeter.
Thanks to several issues in the APFL, the Warriors will finish out their season with three straight home games against teams from the APFL2. On June 2 and 16, the team hosts the Denver Titans and ends the year on June 24 against the Mile High Predatorz.
Despite all the changes in the schedule, on the coaching staff and on the roster, the Warriors feel they’re a better team. Their hope is that Saturday might be the start of something.
“Coach Ware’s got us running in practice. He challenged us as a whole unit,” defensive lineman Robert Rose said. “He put a lot of pressure on us to either make us or break us. And tonight, it made us.”
