He had initially signed a letter of intent to play for purdue out of High School, but after the then head coach resigned, him and several other players changed their mind. He ended up going to Elizabeth City State University. He played in the NIFL in 2002 for the Lincoln Capitols, 2003 he was signed by the Winnipeg Blue Bomers of the CFL. In 2004 he played for the Ohio Valley Greyhounds, 2005 for the Cincy marshalls both of the NIFL. In 2006 he played for the Port Huron Pirates of the GLIFL, In 07 he found himself part of the Lexington Horsemen. He was drafted to play for Team Michigan in the AAFL, an outdoor league which never played a game, in 2008. After that he doesnt come back up until 2011 where he played the final regular season game for the Cincy Commandos of the CIFL, formerly the Marshalls. He was signed earlier this year by his head coach brother, Mister Askew to play for the Dayton Silverbacks, his brother was let go prior to the start of the season, Rayshawn left the team with his brother having never played a game for them. From all my research I couldn't find anything on him ever trying out for an NFL team, other than he had "hopes" of one day making it to the NFL. My guess is, that will have to remain a dream for him.

I think he had a couple tryouts, but nothing real serious. There was never any real shot of him making an NFL roster.
He'll have to live with his 1,000 yard rushing season at Ohio Valley.
