San Angelo Bandits Name Chris Simpson Head Coach

It is with great pleasure we at the San Angelo Bandits welcome Chris Simpson to be our Head Coach for our inaugural season. Chris Simpson returns for his second stint as Head Coach of the 2005 San Angelo Stampede and his first at the helm of the San Angelo Bandits. Simpson brings eight seasons of head coaching experience in Arena/Indoor football. Beginning in 2007, he spent four seasons in Baltimore, MD, Coach Simpson led the Baltimore Mariners to a 16-0 record and the 2010 AIFA National Championship. The Mariners were the first team in AIFA history to finish undefeated. For his accomplishments, Simpson was named the AIFA's 2010 Coach of the Year.
Prior to his return to San Angelo, Simpson served as Corner Back Coach at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX, a member of the Lone Star Conference. During the 2011/12 offseason, Simpson worked as the Director of Football Operations for the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League; assisting in establishing the foundation of the team for their inaugural 2012 season.
Coach Simpson was the Head Coach for the San Angelo Stampede in 2005 and brings a long list of accomplishments coaching in the CFL, AFL, AzFL and High School sports. Chris has served in multiple responsibilities from Scouting Players to Owner of a Team over the past sevens years. He brings experience in every aspect of the game that is needed to build a winning team.
When Chris was asked how he felt about returning to San Angelo, he said "I look forwarded to the coming back to San Angelo and the opportunity to build a championship caliber organization on and off the field. Personally, I have some unfinished business to tend to from my previous time with the Stampede," stated Simpson.
