With indoor football returning to Lincoln, I have returned to being a follower. Doubt too many of you remember me. I have used the moniker "lightningjeff" and "vortex" on these and other boards, but haven't been a big follower since the demise of the Capitols.
In my past, I was a season ticket holder for both the Lightning and the Capitols.
I also did two years as the camera operator for the Lightning in the (old) IFL and AF2.
Since the Caps folded, I've only attended about five games (Beef and Blackhawks).
Seen the good and bad of indoor football since 1999, and am hoping for the good again.

It sounds like you were last active on the NIFL boards then. Welcome back!

As I recall, CP4L awarded me with my autographed Lincoln Capitols NIFL football that I won. ;D

Is Fred still around? (FWP)

After the Capitols folded Fred started going to Iowa Blackhawks games in 2006. He stopped going the last few years though, but now that the Blackhawks have moved to Lincoln and renamed themselves the Haymakers I saw on facebook that he's going to support the team. So I'm pretty sure if you go the Haymakers games you'll see him there.

Is Fred still around? (FWP) he doesn't post much as he's been so busy with work and family stuff, but he's planning on getting tickets for the Haymakers. Should be fun if we can get a decent crowd down there again.

Fred was always impressed with the ownership in Council Bluffs, so I will take his word for it.
I think the staff has a high hill to climb in Lincoln. Too many burned bridges and scalded fans. But the sport has been gone for 7 years, so it might be that people have forgotten the sins of the past ownership(s).
My first contact with the office (an email to find out the price of a jersey) went unanswered. Can't say I'm impressed.
I've got season tickets to the No Coast Derby Girls, but I will likely attend most of the Haymakers' games this year. Probably won't purchase season tickets until I see some stability.

Fred was always impressed with the ownership in Council Bluffs The ownership of Council Bluffs has changed twice since Fred stopped going to their games. When he was going to their games the owner was Jake Hiffernan, who was a great owner and is a great person. Ho-Chunk Inc. bought the team during this offseason and moved them to Lincoln, so they're actually on their fourth ownership now.

But to his point, unanswered or, unreturned phone calls aren't a good sign. Even the IFL's Oklahoma defenders office called me back in 2010 when I inquired about credentials to get my camera into the game.

They have them on their website and facebook page, the uniform stuff anyway. Thanks! I hadn't noticed they had the prices posted now. When I inquired, they only had the jerseys pictured with an email link to "contact" them about getting one.
