Florida fails to show and Springfield wins via forfeit.
Iowa and Kansas both win big, at the same time battle it out to see who can set the all-time APFL scoring record against semi-pro teams.

for those who don't know, Springfield is a semi-pro team. They don't pay their players...and they draw better than about 4 IFL teams.

Ahem, cough, cough, Wolfpack, cough cough. Funny thing about the Wolfpack nickname is that it's also the nickname of a fighter wing at Kunsan Air Base, in the Republic of Korea (that's South Korea by the way). They had T-shirts for sale off base that depicted a Wolf behind a soldier with the saying "You haven't been packed, until you've been Wolf packed." They were a popular seller, but one airman got in trouble for wearing it to work under his regular battle dress uniform (BDU) as a T-shirt and displayed it for all to see when it got hot and he took off his BDU shirt. You can get away with some things in the military, but being out of uniform is not one of them.

for those who don't know, Springfield is a semi-pro team. They don't pay their players...and they draw better than about 4 IFL teams. Cost is king. There's a reason teams like Springfield, Iowa, and Kansas can survive in a truly half-assed league, while the UIF, InFL, CIFL, and AIFA lose relatively legitimate teams every year (I mean, everyone's got a Tupelo or Steubenville, and those don't count). 1,500 fans at an APFL game is probably a hair above the breakeven point. 1,500 fans at an IFL game gets you on the list of teams guaranteed to fail and go away. The APFL theory is still by far the most sound in the sport. And to use the John McKay quote from 1976...Their execution? "I'm in favor of it." Really, why is there a pick-em here? There are maybe a half-dozen games that are in question. It's like the 2006 GLIFL pick-'em...of 25 guys, one picked Marion to beat Rochester at home (the only upset of the '06 GLIFL season), and that one beat anyone else trying by one game. :-P
