They have always gotten away with that You're right. Omaha has one of the longest pre-games ever. I've grown so used to it that when I go on the road I'm taken aback at how short the pregames are elsewhere...lol. It's a tradition now though, so I doubt it'll change and truth be told I like it now. I can see how visitors might dislike it though.

and a roughing the passer to get a 1st down, that had to be a home town call on a kicker no less The bad snap forced Lebeda to chase the ball down, run backwards to avoid the tackler, then he passed the ball to the other side of the field (my eyes left him after that so I didn't see him get hit) and the pass was completed, although 10 yards short of the first down marker. So we're all like, Wild ball since it was 4th down. Then we see the flags and found out it was roughing the passer giving Omaha a 1st down...and we're all like...WOW. Like I said, I didn't see the hit so I can't comment about it, but a defensive guy has to be aware of being careful in a situation like that when it's 4th down and you risk giving the other team a bonus like they gave them. Talk about a big turn around off a penalty, that was crazy. Tack on 15 yards on top of that and the Beef went from giving the Wild the ball at midfield to having first and goal at the 10...jeez.

yes i am actually a beef player just got tossed Number 14, DB Dorsey Golsten got tossed after offsetting personal fouls between him and a Wichita player, but the reason he got tossed is that he threw a punch after the ref's threw the flags while they were pushing and shoving. After it was announced he was disqualified, either he was intending to ignore it, didn't hear it, or didn't know what his jersey number was, because it took him a good two minutes for him to leave the field, and the ref had to basically lead him to the sidelines.

ROFL at the halftime interview, saying wichita isnt a very good measuring stick, well ur winning by 4, so... lol Who was being interviewed that said Wichita isn't a good measuring stick? I'll admit that myself and others thought the same, but they sure shocked us tonight by playing really tough. In the first half there were three length of the field passes complete, two for touchdowns and one to the one yard line that eventually resulted in a touchdown...a very effective quick strike to stay in the game. In the second half they only had one of those. Wichita has some talent on both sides of the ball and played very well tonight, so anything can happen for them this season. I felt very lucky when the Beef pulled out the win, because Wichita almost had the upset.

vp of the beef Dustin cant spell last name Dustin Talako. He's been with the Beef from the start, moved up from ball boy all the way to GM, to his current position as VP. He's a good guy, so forgive him his opinions.

Omaha has ALWAYS had riduclasly long games. pregame takes forever, rivals Wichita in Pre-Game halftime is like 20 minutes long.. it's just plain crazy really. the Civic is a ok place to watch a game, it is huge, but well lit, and Omaha has good fans.. Yes. A Beef game is a definite EVENT type of thing, not just an indoor football game. At first I used to get a tad perturbed about all the extra stuff as I just go for the football to be honest, but after all these years they've finally won me over and now I actually like most of it...took awhile. I guess even an old rock like me can get worn down if you keep pouring water over it.

WOW perfect kick bounces out of bounds at the 2 moved to the 5 Yeah, the ref said by rule a ball going out of bounds (after hitting the turf) inside the 5 gets spotted at the 5. Must be a new rule because I always thought it was where it went out if it hit the turf first. Another rule I'm confused on as well is: Are the walls live or not? I've heard that they are, but I've seen two games now where a ball hits the wall and the player catches it off the wall, but it is ruled no catch. A Beef player, DB Demetrius Wilbert I believe, caught a Wild pass off the wall and ran it back for what we all thought was a TD, but instead Wichita got to keep the ball. I didn't see Dakota Crow get too upset about it and I would think he knows the rules better than anyone, so I think the walls must not be live as was previously reported.

Who are the WRs for the Wild - I've heard Solomon and Cavanuagh, who's the third? Solomon, Cavanaugh, and Riley played very well in speeding down the field and catching the deep ball...I was impressed.

they signed Payne but haven't heard his name td Wichita! I'm pretty sure I saw Donald Payne out there. I remember 1, 3, and 4 being all over the place though (Solomon, Riley, and Cavanaugh). DB Randy Kelly was pretty prominent as well, very animated throughout. Especially after one kickoff return where he got his facemask violently pulled while being tackled and the whole crowd gasped as his neck was pulled back. The crowd was silent after that and then he got up and raised his arms in the air to signal he was alright and the crowd gave him applause. Definitely a fiery guy. For the Beef, it was nice having Tonga on our team. He's definitely the defensive leader for the Beef and may already be the heart and soul of our defense now. We all appreciate him playing for the Beef.

I didn't see Dakota Crow get too upset about it and I would think he knows the rules better than anyone, so I think the walls must not be live as was previously reported. I was lucky enough to get a good run down of some of the rule changes from last year Chop blocking (more of it), OT rules (start at the 20), and no longer having to announce blitzes (unless a second player is in the LB box) seemed to be the major points of emphasis. The way the walls were described to me (and I butchered it on the air) was that everything BUT a thrown ball was live off the walls. In that case, I think it was correctly called an incomplete pass. If somebody fumbled a ball into the wall, however, it remains live until it's recovered. That's different from last season, when it would have been blown dead. Also, players that are intentionally putting themselves up against the wall (usually to stop the clock inside 90 seconds) can now get the referee whistle even without contact from a defender. I think it even happened a time or two tonight.

He just about ripped his head off, id say thats in the top 3 range ive seen for facemasks in the indoor game Yes, it looked really bad. That's why we were all surprised when he popped up so quick and wanted props from the audience, which he got. It was kind of a "Rod Tidwell" moment.

There was fight in the Wild that flatout wasn't there last year; they have to feel pretty good even with the tough loss. Funny what a real QB can do for you. A couple real play makers on defense, too. Any Wichita fans know if Donald Payne even made the trip? He was on the roster that I had (no visiting radio to consult with), but I didn't see him on the field once. He's too talented of a guy to not get any PT. And yes, longest game ever. I guess I didn't see 5 then, thought I saw a 5, must've been Beef. Definitely saw 1, 3, and 4...they were hard to miss catching the long bombs, especially the one to start the game with, that shocked all of us.
