I didn't expect Erie to have that much trouble with Marion, but they're grooming a new QB and a new rule set against a team that's already played a game...so I suppose no shock. It helps that they'd played in that crackerbox last year.

Marion beat them last year and I thought they'd get 'em again while Erie was in transition. A costly turnover in the second half changed the momentum for them and Erie got the close win. Oh well.

Marion tweeted after the game that their last second field goal should've been called good, despite hitting the ceiling before going thru the uprights. Most indoor football league's have their rules set to any kicks hitting the ceilings or stuff hanging from them are No Good. I have seen some of them called good by officials though, but usually in error. I do not know what the 2013 CIFL Rule is on this matter though, but I'd imagine it says No Good.BlueRacers: For those who don't know.. Actually, I think the CIFL rule was newly changed. I think balls off the ceiling in Port Huron or Saginaw (I forget which) last week were called live. Chances are the game officials at the game were from either prior CIFL years or last year's UIFL, so it's going to happen like that sometimes.

I demand the CIFL change the outcome then, because I'd be 4-1 in CIFL Pickem ... and rightfully so, lol.

Nope, the rule states the ball is dead when it strikes a fixed object before reaching the uprights. Here's the section from the CIFL Rulebook (and don't ask me where I got it).So, the kick striking the ceiling (which is not a loose fixed object) prior to passing thru the uprights makes the ball dead and kick no good as correctly ruled.

Effectively, the ceiling at Marion is a drop ceiling.

I'd be 6-1 and so would you if they counted the kick. By their rules it was no good however.
