The Lincoln Haymakers Professional Indoor Football team would like to invite the entire community to join the team Friday February 15th at the Pershing Center from 4-6:30pm for their open house event. Fans will be able to meet players, coaches, and front office staff inside the Haymakers home arena for the first time. Fans interested in Season Tickets will be able to hand pick the seats they want as well as purchase single game tickets and official team merchandise. If fans are unable to attend but still would like to purchase season tickets call 402-435-0411. The Pershing Center will have the field and dasher board walls set up just like game night so fans can get a feel for the actual layout as indoor football comes to Lincoln. Fans will also be invited to stick around after the open house to watch Haymakers practice which is normally closed to the public. The Haymakers are training for their pre-season game February 23rd in Grand Island, NE against the Nebraska Danger. The Haymakers will play in Lincoln for the first time Friday March 29th in the New Victorian Suites Kickoff Classic against the Sioux City Bandits with kickoff at 7:05pm. For more information fans can check out www.lincolnhaymakers.com and by following the team on Facebook and Twitter.

Went down to the open house at Pershing this evening. They had the turf down, it is in fact the same turf from Council Bluffs. Still not painted...it still has the Jacksonville Tomcats end zones and the AF2 logo at midfield. I always thought that was weird in Council Bluffs, I mean, how hard is is to paint a field?
While I was there, maybe 100 people present, which included staff, players, cheerleaders. Not sure how many of those 100 or so were actual fans, as opposed to family and friends of the players. Hard to judge based on an open house what the attendance will be once the games start.
Did finally get me a Haymakers jersey, couple of shirts and some pocket schedules. Didn't stay for the practice after I found out they weren't scrimmaging, just practice.
Think I ran into CF4L, even said hi to him, but honestly did not put two and two together until I got home. It's been what....8 years? Sorry about that, I've never been good with faces. Catch up to you later on!
Between the Haymakers games, the No Coast Derby girls and all the concerts springing up, I will be practically living at Pershing this spring. Maybe they can set me up an apartment downstairs!

Nice to hear things are going well with the new team in Lincoln! Hopefully they can get the field painted before the season starts.
