Yeah, alot of people made fun of the Brigade when they came to town.....but it was not the haters that filled Kemper. I am predicting 5,000 for opening day, and if they field a winning team it will just go up from there.

How many was the AFL team getting in? If the Brigade hasn't been marketing, then most likely you can expect less than that since it's a different league.

How many was the AFL team getting in? If the Brigade hasn't been marketing, then most likely you can expect less than that since it's a different league. In their first game at home ever the attendance was 16,523. They average 15,234 for their first season at Kemper (3 wins,13 losses).
In their second season they averaged 11,632, at Kemper (10-6).
Their third season they moved to Sprint and averaged 12,828 (12,828).
They were top 3 in attendance for the AFL, all three seasons.
THEN THE LEAGUE FOLDED.........THE OWNERS SCREWED THE FANS OUT OF MONEY (a lot of people never received their refunds), followed by a second season of the team not being around.
Finally they returned in 2011 and averaged 4,353 and then averaged 4,303 in 2012.
So the way I see it, there are 4,300 faithful that stuck it out through the end. Add in a small increase for the fact that ticket prices have gone back down to where they were in 2006, a small increase because parking is free again, a small increase because tailgating will be back, and a big jump due if we start winning (see the increase after their only winning season). I do not really think 5,000 is a that wild of a prediction.
As for getting the word out, while I have to admit I was a little disappointed with their marketing at start. But they have started kicking it into gear for the last couple weeks. I think they decided their money is better spent advertising in the moth prior that spread over the 3 or 4 months leading up to the season.
Go Gades!!!!

Yeah, I was referring to last year's 4k. Previous years don't count as much as the last year.
You say this new team will start with 5k out the gate. I just want you to temper your expectations and realize they'll be lucky to get 4k in their first game if they haven't been marketing. If their marketing is improving, then possibly they get more than 4k.

I had season tickets last year, and the only game I recall there being more than 1k in the stands was when Iowa came down and brought several hundred fans with them.

Yeah I agree, the turn out last year was painful to see. I have been a season ticket holder every year since they came to Kansas City....including the canceled year (I did get a refund, my friends did not). And I already bought season tickets this year, I am hoping to a return to the glory of those first 2 years in Kemper. I really enjoyed how excited and loud the crowd got.
