So i've been away from watching indoor football since the Rage left, but i'm definitely wanting to catch a Monsters game soon. Won't be able to make the season opener though. Applied to announce for the team but I need money and the position was volunteer only. Already a pretty bad sign in my opinion. The team is making plenty of positive noise on facebook and apparently a could of pre-season parties were quite successful. Not too familar with the UIFL but all signs I read tend to not say good things about the league. Is this a case where the league and teams could be gone before the season is over? Or is atleast more stable than that. Thanks for any and all feedback. If nothing else it's nice to have a reason to really re-visit this board.

Yeah the leagues a mess sadly. Missouri has to play teams in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Hurts travel costs. There were alot of semi pro travel replacement teams last year. The 2 other stable teams next to the Monsters are the Florida Tarpons and Lakeland Raiders. I think the Monsters will be fine. Have fun with it. Next year hopefully they move on to the CPIFL or CIFL. I'm happy there's a team in St. Louis. I have family there.

Missouri is playing 7 home games, 3 of which are non-league games and one is against the Sarasota Thunder who are now a road team. Those 4 games will be against semi-pro teams.

Haines owns the Missouri Monsters and is good at making it seem like a real team is there, but there isn't and it won't last very long. The league may not survive past this year and the same goes for the Monsters.

Showstopper I hope in time we have something more along the lines of the Believers and Rage. St Charles had a good run of professional talent and never went the semi pro route. Maybe a signing a game or two here and there nothing more. Bringing in semi pro teams aka non league games. HuH? The Monsters have snuggled up with one of our six local semi pro teams in the St Louis/St Charles area to build a roster. Those players are use to playing for free and telling everyone they get paid. So you have a good fit there and a staff who wishes so bad to be part of something big fronting as indoor football coaches. A volunteer team staff, volunteer game officials and volunteer game day staff. Two questions for all. Does the real Corpus Christi Fury (whoever they are lol) team show up for this game? Secondly do the real visiting opponents show for any Monsters games?

Agent47, when you say semi-pro are you referring to the summer outdoor teams dotted around the area? Because I got a taste of that this past summer and wasn't overly impressed.

Thanks gatek99 and that is correct. Most of those players in years past were cut not even call backs. Now 6-7 years later they are key players. St Charles teams have never made a practice of supplemented the roster with local semi pro players. This team is loaded with local semi pro players and on field staff. Friday will be a comedy act. The 2009 Rage our last team was loaded with talent and players with a legit professional track record.

With the GA team getting blown out at home as did the MO team, how can they even hold water for the whole year? The Thunder team looks and plays awful! I saw the pics on the Lakeland FB page. Why just save time and let the FL teams and the TX team play for the title at the and of April? No way these games go until June.
