The Bombers will probably get the last spot in the play-off unless they lose to both the 0-10 Outlaws and 3-8 Defenders, ANNND the Renegades beat the 9-1 Beef ........IN OMAHA. Did not seem fair too me. So I looked at their entire schedules. The Bombers' opposites combines record is 47-78, and the Renegades' are 63-61. WTF!!! The Bombers play the bottom 3 teams twice!!!! WTF I guess if we had just beat them head to head, this would all be a mute point.

A 6-team playoff would've been better than a 4-team playoff as it keeps teams competitive longer (some teams have already given up). I used to prefer a shorter playoff field, but now I like larger ones due to this reason. A larger playoff field would also fix the imperfections in the schedule when it comes to strength of opponents.

I'm starting to see the "imperfections in the schedule when it comes to strength of opponents" too. I'm a Wild fan but must admit they held first place for a long time mostly due to the "easier" schedule. Wichita beating the Beef is their only real bragging spot but that was with a McNear less Beef. Wichita losing to injury laden SC is a better indicator of their first place talent or (lack thereof) than their overall win loss record.

yep, 6-team playoff would have been better. Lincoln cleaning house is a prime example of what happens when a team gets eliminated from contention.

I dunno it's kinda their own fault, they had the talent. shouldnt have lost a couple of the games they did. I've always thought you can not have over half the league make the playoffs or what's the point, next season if they expand to 12 teamsish i feel like 6 would be good, but for 10 teams i think 4 is plenty.

6 team playoff means blowouts in the first round. 4 team at least it means something to be a playoff team.

I agree. 6 out of 10 teams would be too much. I was kind of joking about it not being far. I mean if they had just beat Salina, then they would make be in fourth not Salina. I do think the schedule needs to be fixed. In a league with no divitions, you should play every team before you play anyone multiple times. Maybe play 6 teams once and 3 twice, instead of 4 teams once and 4 twice. Or maybe everyone twice. Or how about playing everyone once and then: 3--------- | 2 ----------- ------------- 10 | | | --------- | ---------------------- | | | 7 |--------------------- | --------- | | | | | ---------- | 6 | |-------------------------- --------- | | 8 | --------- | | 1 | ----------- --------------- | 5 | | | |--------- | --------------------- | | 4 |------------------------------- | | | ------------ 9 | --------- I do know one thing. If we do beat Omaha, there are 4 teams in the CPIFL that should be happy we did not have Coffin under center the whole year. LOL

Minor league schedules will never be perfect. To many things to schedule around.

6 team playoff means blowouts in the first round. 4 team at least it means something to be a playoff team. Not necessarily if they gave top 2 a first round bye, or went with 5 teams and gave the top 1 a bye. Either way though, I would like to see a more balanced schedule in the future. Not necessarily meaning strength of schedule, but just by at least playing everyone. Lincoln and Omaha play each other 3 times this year, but Lincoln didn't play KC at all this season. Regardless of what we'd like to see, the format has been set for this year. KC has been in a must win since the second Sioux City game, and just didn't get it done. Needed some help to sneak in, but it doesn't look like it'll happen. Took them a little too long to get their act together.

Still. Wichita only had to play SC and Beef once? Don't get me wrong. I'm ok if they want to leave it like that next year. I'll take any advantage for Wichita they want to hand out!!

Balanced schedules aren't easy for small leagues like these. Teams want to save money on travel, so they play the teams closest to them as much as possible. You won't see each team playing each team at least once in a 10 team league that is spread out like it is. Granted, it's not as spread out as others, but most teams will want to stay as close to home as possible.
Creating divisions next year should help. A team could still be a top team and miss the playoffs by being in a tough division, but that seems more acceptable to most people, ha ha.
