Northern Kentucky River Monsters were announced the day after the Xtreme were. Bluegrass (Lexington, KY) Warhorses should be announced soon.

SO FAR, and it's waaaaay too early, 2014 looks moderately better than 2013 was. As I understood it, NKY's folding originally was a Haines-related issue, as he had his way with the lease, and the team had no interest in being in Haines' league again; obviously, the lease opened up when Haines didn't play there in 2013.
Port Huron's new ownership appears better, but that well might be poisoned for the time being. The Detroit metro area has a few smaller arenas that would be a nice size, but I don't know what the Thunder are doing.
The NKY owner has ties with Marion (she was involved with the original Mayhem, but I forget in which capacity), so when the XYZIFL fails miserably, you could see the CIFL getting back in there for 2015, though certainly Marion is a tiny market.
I don't expect Cincinnati Commandos to return, at least not yet - any rumors of a "Cincy area team" joining are probably fulfilled by the River Monsters, given Highland Heights is right close to the Cincinnati bypass. I also don't expect the Drillers to return, though they were actually a good-drawing team in their first UIFL campaign. Very Marionesque with the market size.
I don't see the league going to a 12-game regular season for 2014. Sorry, 10's way too short (I prefer 14, but it looks like 12 is becoming the new landscape here, though the CIFL appears to be stuck in high school).
As for other markets of potential expansion, I think you can look at Fort Wayne. I don't hear much about any other markets right now.

We'll see if Detroit and Port Huron can be stable or not, it'd be a welcome change if they are.
Roc City and Fort Wayne were rumored to be the next expansion area's (I can see Roc City, but not sold on Fort Wayne just yet).

From people I talk to, FW has a better chance of surfacing than Rochester. That's not to say either would be a success (from what I've heard, Rochester would actually have a better shot to be a success), but that's what I'm hearing.

So Roc City probably won't happen then?

I don't know if I'd use "probably," but it's likely 50/50 at best, I'd say. I haven't heard a whole lot of late.

Good for Marion! It makes much more sense for them to be in the CIFL then the XIFL.
So does this end the XIFL?

The XIFL still has the Saint Louis Attack (formerly Missouri Monsters), Georgia Rampage, and Florida Marine Raiders (formerly Lakeland Raiders). They should be announcing the Atlanta Eagles as an expansion team soon which will bring them up to a whopping 4 teams. Knowing Haines, he'll be sure to add in some travel-only teams and some non-pro teams masquerading as pro teams to fill out the rest of the league.

XIFL renamed themselves the X-League and jazzed their rules up with some ridiculous ideas. They most likely changed the name due to the departure of part owner Coleman and probably decided to throw in these new rules for publicity. Smith and Mink say Haines isn't involved in running the league, but I find it hard to believe he doesn't have his hand in the pie. Haines claimed he had nothing to do with the UIFL ownership this past year and yet they claimed he ran off with some league money (which would be hard to do if you weren't involved wouldn't it???, lol).
Atlanta team is joining the AIF instead.
The X-League is looking to expand into Pennsylvania and maybe two other places.
They say they won't have travel teams or replacement teams, but Mink had them aplenty when he ran the AIFA and Haines has had them in all of his leagues.

Chicago added as the tenth team (IFL Slaughter, not the Cardinals/Knights/Pythons attempts). Added after the schedule was announced. Still no Roc City or Ft. Wayne.
