did anyone watch or go to the game tonight? Thoughts? There was a lot of negative feedback from the fans, however the game itself was fun to watch.

I watched it on streaming video. Both teams have some rust to shake off, but as expected the River Monsters came away with the win. Lorenzen was trending on twitter last night because photos of his girth went forth like wild fire.
Good: There was a free video stream of the game. The announcers were good, but had to wing it since it was obvious the team didn't provide them with the league rules or history of opposing teams. Ref's seemed capable. Game was played without injury as far as I could tell, no thanks to the field though.
Bad: Start time of the game was delayed for an hour because of problems setting up the field. The field was put together poorly. There were huge gaps between the strips of turf (which they tried to duct tape at halftime). No side walls in play (they had side walls, but moved them back from the field since they didn't have padding). No end zone walls. No scoreboard or time clock (so fans at the game could not see time remaining or current score). No entertainment for fans between stoppages of play (other than cheerleaders). No goal posts (they tried to put two flag poles together for a makeshift goal post, but were told to take them down, so teams had the option of taking a gimmie PAT for seven points after a TD or try for a two point conversion, but if they failed on the two point PAT then they only got six points). DJ played songs with curse words in them with families present. It took fans a long time to get into the stadium, because the box office wasn't ready and only had two people (no separate window for will call either, so will call customers had to wait in line with everyone else). Warhorses said they would have blue turf, but did not.

Yeah I watched the game live too, the game itself was fun and exciting, however I was also following all the comments on facebook. From a sport management perspective, a lot of that can be fixed, from a money perspective, I doubt the field, goal posts, scoreboard will be fixed.
Here is a comment from facebook "It was ridiculous. War horses lost. Coaches and owner shouldn't make promises to players they can't keep and treat them like crap. Their safety should be your number one concern and it's not. Spray painting helmets with no ventilation is not safe! Buying youth XL helmets and trying to get your lineman to wear them with no padding or bladders is not safe! Canceling practice last minute, waiting til the day of to tell players what time they need to be at the field then coaches and have the team don't show up on time is ridiculous. Some of your players actually have jobs they have to leave early so they can play. If you tell them you are going to get them gear and shoes then do it don't wait til the day of the game and not have any for them! You can't just walk into a store a but turf shoes, wearing tennis shoes and cleats on the field is not safe for your players. You told tem they would have name tags to get in the arena, still no name tags? You play guys who don't practice, run, or condition while the ones that do and bust there butt and are there on time and early every day sit on the field! You are suppose to be family oriented but your song choice is awful and you allow your players to start a fight on the field (#52) and still let him play. Why? Half your team will fold in the next week if you don't step up and get your crap straight. It's poorly ran and your players get treated like crap. If you spent less money on the war horse truck and ridiculous food for the players and more time and money on your players ( like equipment promised) you would have much better luck!!!! And don't ask the players what size of uniforms they need if you aren't going to give them even close to the right side. We would of been better off buying our own stuff and would of if we would of known ahead of time about not having equipment."

I didn't see that comment on their facebook, the team must've deleted it.
By the state of the field, boards, goalposts, claiming they have 3000 season ticket holders when not more than 500-800 were in the stands, etc, etc ... I tend to believe that the organization is poorly ran and underfunded, and probably most of what was said in that facebook post is true.
