The IFL announced Monday that Michael Allshouse has been promoted to league commissioner.
Allshouse is entering his fifth season as a official within the IFL Office. He joined the league in league in 2009 and has held positions of Director of Communications, Director of Football Operations and Assistant Commissioner.
“I am honored to be appointed Commissioner of the Indoor Football League,”
Allshouse said in a statement. “The IFL has the reputation of being the ‘Premier Indoor Football League in the Nation’ and I am excited and motivated to facilitate its continued growth and success.”
Nebraska Danger general manager Mike McCoy is taking on a new challenge.
McCoy has been named the Director of Business Development for the Indoor Football League. He’ll still stay on as the Danger general manager, but now his duties will also include his work for the IFL.
“My time will be split,” McCoy said. “It will be 60 percent Danger and 40 percent IFL.”
McCoy’s work with the IFL will involve getting new teams into the league, either by forming organizations or by bringing existing teams coming into the IFL.
“The IFL has never had a guy to do that,” McCoy said. “We’ve always just all tried to help do it. We’ve never had anyone with a designated time allotment to get that done.”
Although McCoy’s job change was just announced Monday, he has already started making contacts. He said he’s reached out to five or six potential IFL teams.

Congrats to both.
I'm interested to see how McCoy's league position will work out as far as getting more teams into the league ... which is much needed. It's not good to be down to 9 teams with one owner owning two teams. They need some new blood soon.
"Minor league pro football is a weird universe filled with bounced checks, unpaid bills, empty promises, out-right lies, empty arenas, endless women, endless booze, occasionally drugs, endless trips on rented buses to towns on the outskirts of the Big Time and, for one night a week, a football game." -- Bill Shea
