Danger debuts new grey home uni's with Cody Kirby getting his first start at QB for the Danger while Sewell nurses bruised ribs. Axemen first regular season road game.
Very good crowd in GI in spite of 0° temp and miserable conditions outside.
Danger offense wasn't clicking very well in the first half, missing Sewell and wide recievers Farquharson and Barnett due to injuries. Kirby played error free, but missed some open receivers. Big plays made the score more respectible. His cannon arm came in to play on a pass that was batted by an Axeman defender, yet helicoptered forward to new Danger receiver Jacob Payne who raced to the end zone, leaving dropped jaws behind.
Danger special teams have a long way to go, giving up a lot of yardage as well as a return for TD. For whatever it's worth, neither team used the squib kick, choosing to kick away.
The Danger set a franchise record, allowing only 19 total points. The defense held the Axemen to only 136 total yards.
