Chuck Wright playing for Lincoln. Chris Coffin playing for Omaha. Folks, we've entered the Twilight Zone. Indeed.

I saw that. Looking forward to seeing what the new players can do. I hope the coaching improves over the coming games as well ... the amount of people looking lost the last game was something I haven't seen from a Beef team before.

I agree with you. I think it comes down to coaching now. There is some guys on the roster that can play some ball. Hopefully everyone gets lined up in the right spots on defense tonight. Way too many easy touchdowns so far this year. Cant wait to watch the game tonight.

Beef won 70-69 in Bloomington tonight. Edge went for 2pts at the end and didn't make, so they lost by 1.
I listened to some of the game. Offense played better, but defense still got torched.

303 yards and 9 touchdown passes by coffin...breaks his record set last year. Whatever problems they have on offense will be covered up by coffins play at QB. I watched the game online and was blown away by how good he looked. Thought maybe he'd be a little rusty. Defense still looks terrible. Defensive backs are still missing tackles and leaving guys wide open.

They won't beat the top teams until the defense starts to play better. Bloomington is below average this year.

They won't beat the top teams until the defense starts to play better. Bloomington is below average this year. Agreed. Watching the games, I saw many holes the coach needs to address to improve this team. Holding your breath in the last seconds when you scored 70 offensive points should not be required. Missing a close up FG and several extra points were one of the reasons the Beef were only leading by 1. To stay on special times, The Edge were often able to start off at midfield or better after kicking coverage, and got some breaks when TD returns were called back. It's a testament to the team's grit and never give up attitude that those obstacles were able to be outdone. Playing tougher competition will show progress made or not made. On the streaming video note ( at $8.00 ), the coverage was not bad, but the score and time remaining is not on the corner of the screen as most of us would expect. This left the home crowd guessing as to time remaining. Congrats to the Edge too, they played with great determination

In the few years I became a fan of indoor football the BEEF were always top notch contenders. I'm wondering if their team went through what the Wild is starting to go through. That is losing top players to other higher paying pro teams in the NFL, CFL and even the AFL?
Team rosters change so fast it's hard to get familiar with any team.

For the most part, Wichita returned most of its firepower from last year and upgraded its kicking game. About two to three years ago, Wichita lost a lot of top players (and the coach), but was able to rebuild quickly.

Omaha's woes are more of a result from the situation that arises when one of those guys who thinks, "Wouldn't it be cool to own a football team," buys a team and has no experience in sports, or the business of sports, other than being a big fan boy. People close to this organization have been talking about this rapid decline coming this season for quite some time now.

My text is not showing up when I try to reply with a quote? Anyway, the Wild is maybe losing Chris Hemphil (maybe) and Kendrick Harper (for sure). That's going to hurt the defense bad.

I'm glad the new owners bought the Beef, otherwise the Beef likely would have folded. A lot of the previous Beef standouts from the last few years defected to higher paying teams or retired. The people in charge of bringing in new talent this year didn't have the best of starts. Some recent signings have definitely helped, but the BEEFense, and evidently special teams, still needs a lot more work. The coaches have to get them back on track. Playoffs are still a long shot, but at least they're competitive now.
