I am thinking the Georgia Firebirds will join the SIF. They played Cape Fear after the Heroes left the XLeague in the Heroes final game of the year.

Exactly right. The IFA/CIFL just puttzed along and did not secure enough teams to make a viable league. Their idea was sound but it never really got past the idea phase. Nothing solid on paper. Its too late this year. I suspect now is the time to get the ball rolling for 2017. Pick it up in May after the AIF fiasco of a season. There will be some solid teams ready to run with other stable franchises. The AIF has its reputation and only has grown bec of a lack of opportunity with any opposition league. Just my thoughts.

What a mess, I just read Georgia Firebirds are going to the AIF, Buffalo and ASI are OUT of the AIF, and Birmingham Outlaws will not play in 2016 (Sick Parent). Who in the world could Cape Fear and Erie play?? Maybe play twice and pick up some exhibition games, then do what DFWCC is saying build for 2017, the AIF will be a disaster.

SIF not dead.... Expect to be a shakey last min thrown together some semblance of a league. There is a loose federation (league) still in formation with a few yet to be announced teams. They are there but for some reason holding Press Rel. Teams will play and this year is laying the groundwork to build and comeback stronger with a more reputable league in 2017.

Yes, I see that the SIF is still going. Cape Fear and Erie are strong BUT Buffalo and ASI not good, not even allowed in the AIF. As for Kentucky, sounds like having troubles, several ownership changes already.
Maybe we will see a nice strong league of 8 someday!

Ky is on the edge. BUF and ASI as I understand it left on their own accord. I'm not sure BUF ever put ink to paper with the AIF for this year. I think ASI could very well be viable in Reading Pa. Looks like another un-announced team is set with a Press Rel soon, also one more possible that I'm aware of.

Going into second week on January DFWCC and nothing new from SIF or Eire. How do they plan to really sell anything with no news at all and the season would start in just over 2 months??? Do you still think KY is going to make it, their site is saying nothing new at all and ownership is really looking questionable. Nothing from Buffalo either. Cape Fear's website is also now just showing the SIF logo and a Fear logo? Not looking good!
Did see rumors that Saginaw is folding??

As I know right now. Erie, Buffalo, ASI Panthers (Reading Pa), Cape Fear (Fayetteville NC) are all good to go. Awaiting 1 other team that has given a verbal (supposedly solid) that's 5 teams and possibly 1 travel team. Expect 5 home & 3 away. Possibility of more. Still held in confidence so I can't name the other 2 teams but they are within 4hrs travel by bus from Erie, Pa.
As I understand the sched hold up is in securing arena dates. Erie Insurance Arena Has @ 180 events a year. They have 3 main tenants Erie Otters hockey @ 42 home dates, Erie Bayhawks D-league BBall 24 home dates and the Erie Explosion scratching for 5 or 6 games. Problem is in March hockey & BBall want playoff dates and the Explosion want weekend dates.

Good info, looks like it is tough for Explosion to find dates. Looks like KY is done, that is probably good. League needs to announce soon!

Kentucky (Owensboro) Knights are still listed on the SIF website.

Yes but the SIF website has not been updated in about a month. Knights have not said much since the ownership change. IF the SIF is going to play this year it needs to get moving real fast, also needs a better league site!

WOW, that is big news! AIF would take a big hit losing Marion and Saginaw, BC was saying he heard the Sting was not going to play. If true, this could be the end of a Franchise in Marion, how often does a team come back after sitting out a year?? (New Mexico is trying to do it this year).
No surprise in KY, with the ownership changes.
Erie, Cape Fear, Marion and Saginaw would have been a nice league!

Erie is done, this has to kill you dfwcc. State of indoor football is really, really bad right now with the exception of the IFL. I am going to follow the AFL more than before and with only 8 teams, not sure how long that can hang on!

Latest Saginaw now trying to get it together for this season..... Hmmm!
On Erie, Yeah.. Bursts my bubble. Saddened by the current events. I have an inside on this whole fiasco but its not my place to say anything. As I am held in confidence. I know the owner and plans are to return in 2017. We all know how hard that can be.
