Back from the game finally and its now time for my long post game report with all the gory details. ;D The Rage did an excellent job bouncing back from the first loss of the season. Unlike the past two seasons the wheels didn't come off and the Rage train stayed on track. I had a bad feeling after the opening kickoff was returned for a touchdown by Wichita but other then a couple of big plays and 2 great catches by number 3 (Sorry couldn't see the name on his uniform) on Wichita their offense didn't impress me. Rasmussen looks like a decent enough quarterback the Rage coverage just did a good job on his receivers tonight. The backup Meguin (sp?) wasn't that impressive in my opinion. Seemed very uncomfortable and wanted zing everything in at a 100 MPH. The Rage offense was strong tonight. Wooten shows what a veteran quarterback should be in the indoor game. Poised, accurate and overall very affective. Add in Sankey as a backup and I feel far more comfortable then last year with Fischer at QB. A good person to compare Fischer to unfortunately would be Tony Banks. He was the indoor version of Tony Banks. Wichita's O-Line was able to keep Rasmussen relatively safe for most of the night but only because the ref didn't know what a freakin Holding penalty was. Once the Rage figured this out they too were able to keep the Wichita D-Line at bay for the rest of the night. That brings me to the refs. Good god almighty I could find you little league refs that could have done a better job then these clowns did tonight. They could have called 25 holding penalties and only 1 was ever called all game. The streak in which the Rage ran the same play 3 straight times for touchdowns in which the first two were erased due to penalties was bogus. Especially the second one where the call should have been canceled out for a pass interference penalty on Wichita. The positively worse call I think I've ever seen n a football game was when Bell caught a touchdown pass two yards deep in the endzone and they marked it 4th and goal at the 1! How in the hell can you be that blind? Either way it was all a mute point as the Rage ended up scoring touchdowns on each of these possessions either way. The classic attraction on each of these plays was one of the Rage owners running down to the wall and screaming into the Line Judge's ear on both occasions. I thought Wichita looked far better than they did last year. Some very tall and athletic receivers on this team but I have a feeling that they aren't being utilized properly. Rasmussen looks to be good enough to get the job done but he has to have his receivers to be open to do the job and tonight they weren't. One last note please get rid of Garvey he is trash! All he could do was yap like a little Pomeranian but he didn't do jack for his team tonight on the field. Attendance tonight was unfortunately pretty sparse. Maybe 2,500 were there. I was lucky enough to get seats right behind the bench and chat it up with some of the Rage players during the game. Neat view into the game for sure. I'm afraid the attendance numbers are going to be down for the Rage like many minor league sports teams across the nation. One would think that with the economy down a family would save money and go to a minor league event, but rather I think the case is going to be that families will only save up for the occasional major sporting event to possibly get more bang for their buck. This is only my thinking but as someone who has noticed a drop in a lot of minor league attendances this is my explanation for it. If things don't improve you could see many minor league teams and some league as a whole go by the wayside. Alright I think that about does it for my ramble. Sorry for being so long winded.

Whoops forget one more thing. The tribute to former Rage player Barry Brueggemann who died in a car accident near Cape Girardeau on Thursday. As rcragefan already mentioned in the Atlantic Forum, it was a very nice tribute with a raffle of one of his game worn jersies and all the proceeds going to his family, who were awesome enough to show up for tonight's game just 48 hours after such a tragedy. I commend them for their strength in the wake of this tragedy and my condolences to them. Something tells me that Barry is up in heaven smiling down on them tonight because I think he would have wanted them to be there for the tribute. And once again well done by the Rage staff for doing such a great job on the tribute. Just pure class all the way around.

Yea well as for WR not being open It would have been a whole other story if we had Solomon out there. He takes up two and helps some one else get open. #3 is Tim Riley. Our QB actually does suck and so does the back up... And as for Garvy talking all the time he is the 3rd leading takkler on the team & many others talk all the time and he isnt the one who throws punches like Ene.

Also as a note. CS is out this game I didnt catch why though. That's too bad. No wonder the Rage won by such a wide margin.

I thought there was a receiver missing for the Wild in the lineup. Just couldn't think of the name. Garvey was the one I saw talking the most, otherwise the Wild players weren't overly chatty, I've seen worse teams in this regard. The only other one I noticed was Rasmussen taunting the Rage bench after he threw for a touchdown but for some reason he decided to taunt the coaches instead of the players which I thought was a tad odd. It seemed to me that the Wild were missing just that extra something tonight and that very well may have been Solomon. That said even having him in the lineup wouldn't have kept the Rage from winning this game. They were way too motivated.

So Solomon was out for the game? He could have made a difference, but hard to say. Without him, the Wild wouldn't have won the first game
