Billings will roll to the IFL Championship Game. I don't know who they'll play there, but that could be a good game.

Fairbanks plays to win and has guts, you have to give them that. They were just overmatched against the Storm though. Faribanks has guts - no question. Taking calculated risks against the Storm in SF is something coaches have racked their brains over for years. You see it a lot in Arena football but I guess I might argue that game is more wide open. I'm not taking anything away from Ponder - he had the balls to try it & they did end up scoring afterwards. We only on side kicked against undiciplined teams that would bail out quickly. The version I liked more - especially against a team like SF (with 3 up men) is the line drive squib kick when you aim at one of the up men. Better chance of success - and if you miss him you aren't turning the ball over at the 10. Oh well - I am undefeated from my couch. 3 yards & a cloud of dust - unless you're from Montana.

Better chance of success - and if you miss him you aren't turning the ball over at the 10. I like that strategy as well. San Angelo successfully converted an onside kick at the end of the game when they needed to, using another ploy that I like. The kicker had the tee all the way to the left of the field and the players were all lined up evenly spaced down the line, but facing the direction to the right. Most of the Beef were on the right, but not all. The kicker kicked it lightly to the left, off the inside of his foot, kind of like a soccer pass, and the one Beef player near it ran up to get it, but instead of falling on it tried to pick it up, failed, the ball went past him and no one was near it and 2 or 3 San Angelo players were able to jump on it. Misdirection kick, another good strategy. The Beef picked the ball off two players later, converted a field goal to go up by 8, and held on for the win though...yah.

Remember Billings when Magic coached them - and Sioux City liked to just kick the hopper and they had 3 or 4 guys just mow people down. It was nasty.
