Discuss the Wichita Wild (9-6) at Omaha Beef (11-3) Central Division Championship Playoff Game here.
-----------------------------------------------------------
GAME NOTES:
The Wichita Wild come into the game with a 9-6 overall record. Wichita went 8-6 in the regular season and is 1-0 in the playoffs. Wichita is on a four game winning streak and has upped their road record to 3-5 after beating Bloomington 46-37 in the first round of the playoffs. Wichita's other two wins on the road came against the San Angelo Stampede Express and the Sioux City Bandits.
The Omaha Beef come into the game with a 11-3 regular season record. Omaha finished off the regular season on a three game winning streak and are 7-0 at home.
The teams split their season series both winning at home. Omaha defeated Wichita 41-36 on 20 March in Omaha and Wichita defeated Omaha 39-37 on 13 June in Wichita.
-----------------------------------------------------------
HISTORICAL NOTE:
The Sioux Falls Storm were given five forfeits for failing to have insurance coverage this season, dropping their record to 6-8 and out of the playoffs. On the field they were 11-3 and would have finished with a first round bye and home field advantage in the United Conference. The divisional championship playoff game in the Central Division would've been the Bloomington/Omaha winner at Sioux Falls instead and Wichita would've been out of the playoffs. Wichita, a deserving team with an 8-6 regular season record, has made the most of this by advancing to the divisional championship round.

how can you say Wichita is deserving? Sure, they may have beaten BLO, but they doesn't mean they deserved to be in the playoffs. They got in because of poor decisions by the SFS front office compounded with poor decisions by the IFL Exec. Committee.
anyway-
Omaha wins this one in what is looking to be a good game. Everyone knows how difficult it is to win in Omaha with the opponents generally playing 8 on 13 not to mention a tough crowd to deal with.
I'd have liked to see Wooten, Solomon, Fudge, and Kelly play as they sound like they are on a roll. As much as I'd like to see the game, I have to support the Blackhawks on their way to an APFL Championship.
If Omaha takes care of business they get one more home game guaranteed right? Well, as guaranteed as it can be in Indoor Football...

There might just be a certain unemployed broadcaster who will be working this game on Saturday

There might just be a certain unemployed broadcaster who will be working this game on Saturday That would be awesome. Would that certain unemployed broadcaster be broadcasting on the certain radio station that may or may not have worked with the team in question previously? Would that broadcast also include the B2 feed? I'll be at the game, but it'd be nice to have the best working the broadcasts for others. This will be a battle, both previous games came down the wire each time. Omaha plays hard and is battle tested having won many close games this year. I look for them to pull out a close win against the much improved Wild team, 47-41.

The broadcast should certainly include the B2 network, although you might have to click the away feed to find it As for the game itself, I don't think there is any question that it is going to be an awesome contest. Two teams that have split a pair of close games this season, and played a bunch of close games as a whole. What Omaha gains in home field, Wichita gains with Wooten now under center. An absolute coin flip of a game if I've ever seen one. I can't wait.

I think Omaha wins this matchup. Hoefully, I can find a way to get away and go to Omaha for the game, but may not make it. Might have to give up and try B2

Are fans allowed to stand in the beef arena? (the whole game) Or do overzealous "security" come down to tell you to sit cause the people behind you 8 rows can't see.

there is plenty of back rows where beef fans stand, but standing with peoeple in front of you is always considered rude when your on the road

This should be an interesting game. When Wichita beat Bloom I thought to myself - "The Beef are going to have their hands full". Of course I do think the Beef should win. Playing at home with a powerful offense should give them the nod but if Wichita commits to running the ball while taking their shots - they could get it done. I'd make it a point to keep it out of McNears hands.

I wanted to wish good luck to my pal BananaCat and his team today. Big big game! If the Beef win the plan is to be in Omaha next weekend.
Have fun Beef and Wild fans!
