I just realized that the Detroit Lions went 0-16 during their 75th anniversary. What a way to celebrate 75, ouch. Now that's showing your age.
On the bright side, they should win 2-3 games next year I think...maybe more if they can pull off some upsets. What they should do is get Parcels to be GM since Parcels has a clause with Miami that he can walk after a year if a new majority owner takes on the Dolphins (which is going to happen)...and Parcels can even keep the millions coming to him over the next few years. Why stay for 3 more years if you can get the money anyway and not stay there...and go somewhere else, like he likes to do anyway. He should go to Detroit and do what he does best, turn programs around. Or perhaps Marty Shottenheimer could go there as coach, he's looking to get back in the NFL and he's also great at turning programs around.
Detroit did have great years in the 50's winning three NFL Titles (same as Cleveland), so at least they did have a dynasty and have won 4 NFL Titles total...more than most teams can say. Still, no one remembers the past much, it's all about what you do now. Until they get someone who can turn that program around, like Parcels or Shottenheimer, I don't see it changing soon.
