That makes sense, in another month or so I might buy another guitar, but then I will have to buy another controller or two so I can use everything. So hoping that the Guitar Hero Mettalica will work with the microphone and the drum kit. it will, if you reserve it at gamestop you are supposed to get a bonus item, a foot pedal, from what they've told us. edit, 100th post, yay

So hoping that the Guitar Hero Mettalica will work with the microphone and the drum kit. I know. At $40 a pop, the controllers are overpriced is my opinion. I need to buy two more though as I only have two. I've been looking for the price to go down, but so far no luck and no luck finding used one's yet either.

Hey Bananacat, have you been able to achieve a three star rating yet? Man, I went back to upgrade all my rankings (now that I know where to see them) and raced all the 50cc courses again. Upgraded to two stars in seven of them, and unlocked another person and cart. But no matter what I tried, three stars wasn't happening. Whadda have to do? Kill the other drivers? lol
I'll be working on upgrading my 100cc races and then the 150's . . . after that, I'll go back to the mirror mode and see what happens. I haven't raced the mirror courses since I picked up the two golds last week.

Freedom,
No, I haven't been able to get a 3 star ranking yet. I know 2 star rankings are based on winning all the races of a cup and also getting good track times, so three stars must need unbelievable track times..ridiculous.
I've been concentrating on cups now, I mean getting 2 stars in a cup for all modes (50, 100, 150, mirror) and also unlocking the expert ghost in Time Trials. I haven't been able to beat any of the Expert Ghosts at all, so that has been as elusive as the 3 star ranking for me. I figure by going cup by cup, 50 on up to mirror I'm racing the same tracks and keeping the familiarity and thereby completing each mode quicker than by going mode to mode.
So far I'm done with the 3 of the first 4 cups, the Mushroom, Shell, and Flower as far as having 2 star rankings in all modes and also unlocking all expert ghosts in time trials. To unlock the expert ghosts you have to beat the regular ghost and usually you have to beat his time by 4 minutes or so to unlock the expert. I originally thought all you had to do was just beat him, but a few I beat and didn't unlock the expert until I improved my time.
I actually improved greatly on Wario's Gold Mine when I did the flame bike on the time trials. The hardest part for me in the 150cc and Mirror on that track was the curve right before the jump, I would always fall off the track there. I finally figured out to go on the elevated part of the track on the left side of the turn to cut down on my swerving after that turn and not go off the track while still keeping top speed. The wheel can be a muther to control sometimes. Do you use the wheel?
The third race on the Flower Cup was VERY HARD to unlock the expert ghost. I can't even count how many times and days it took to finally get a fast enough time to unlock it, man.
A good tip for improving your time also, is when doing a time trial for the first time, just follow the ghost around the track for the first lap (use your three boosts to keep up with him if you fall back) and watch how he takes the track and look for shortcuts he uses and where he uses the boosts. Then race him for real using those tricks and beat him, usually pretty easy. Then race the expert ghost and sometimes you also see new tips and tricks. The closest I've come to beating the expert ghosts is on the first race of the Mushroom Cup, I'm only a second behind it but I just can't beat it...arggghhh.
Right now I'm trying to finish the Banana Cup. I got 2 stars in 50cc (50cc is ridiculously easy now...lol...although sometimes I get bombarded and lose...**** blue shells...but not often). I'm stuck on 100cc in Banana right now...on that **** beach course with the Crabs going back and forth and the pirate ship throwing bombs at you. No matter what I do, I always get blue shelled to death either on the second or third lap, sometime right before the finish, and I lose...very frustrating. Also on all my Banana Cup time trials I've done excellent and unlocked all the expert ghosts, except for the beach race with the crabs...I've beat the regular ghost but I can't get a fast enough time to unlock the expert ghost. So right now, that beach with the crabs is the bane of my Mario Kart existence and is preventing me from moving on right now until I conquer it. On the time trials for that one I switched to a bike that gets good off road performance since you are in the water a lot and that will slow you down otherwise and that's what enabled me to beat the first ghost, but I'm just a few seconds shy of the time I need.
I'll try again tonight for that race. I have to say, with all this driving I think I'm actually consistently better than my daughter now. I beat her way more than she beats me now. When she beats me, it's because I got hit with a blue shell or something, so all this work (it is work) has payed off. I still hate the game, although I do find myself smiling more and cursing less. When I get bombarded now I laugh and say bring it on mf'ers...but sometimes it still gets to me.

Shy Guy Beach (the track with the crabs) is still stonewalling me in 150cc as far as 2 stars, so I went to 50cc and got 2 stars in all those races to feel like I was accomplishing something...unlocked another character. Last week my character columns expanded to 4 and I've filled in some of the new one's and only have 3 characters left to add. I unlocked a cool bike this weekend that goes faster than the flame flyer but man it's almost too fast since it's hard to control. Last night I used that bike on the first race of the Mushroom Cup in a time trial and beat my first expert ghost ever...oh yeah. The bike was perfect for that track since it's the easiest track of all 32 tracks. I checked and I have 4 out of 8 150cc cups with 2 stars, and with 150cc and Mirror I have 3 out of 8 cups with 2 stars each. So I have 14 2 star ratings to go, and a few time trial races to go. Once I get them done, then I'll hook the system up online and take on all comers. Rainbow Road in 50cc is easy, heck all of 50cc was easy after going back to it and playing 150cc and mirror for so long.

Well, if it wasn't official before it is now...I'm really hooked on Mario Kart. I've been playing it so much I hear the music in my head no matter where I go now. I even dreamt of it last night...lol.
Tonight I just played a ton again, first with my daughter. She beat me in the first cup by 2 pts, we tied in the second cup, then in the last cup I creamated her. In the last cup she won the first two races and I finished second, but the third race is my choice so I chose Grumble Volcano since it's so wild and I got second place and she got seventh so I moved ahead overall, and in the fourth race she thought she play against my weakness by choosing Rainbow Road, only I'm not so bad on Rainbow Road now and I actually got first to her fifth...whoa, she was upset...that alone was worth all the hours of practice.
After I put her to bed I finished off the 2 star rankings in the 100cc cups. Now I only have the 150cc and Mirror to upgrade to 2 stars (no easy task). The game is finally slowing down for me, which is good. My thumb still hurts, but eventually it should go away I hope because I'm going to keep playing until I lose my addiction.

I have no clue. I don't have an IPhone and all I did with my Wii is connect it to the TV. I do need to figure out how to enable the Wii to play worldwide though, but I'm not worrying about that yet.

Well it's pretty simple actually, Wii has build in wireless, if you got a wireless router, you're set, otherwise you might want to get a LAN adapter to hard wire it, simple, basically same as the PS3 except ps3 has a built in Ethernet port. I'm thinking of getting a Wii just for the **** Mario games, i have a 360/ps3 which is nice for hardcore gaming and ps3 for blu rays but i wanna play me some **** mario.

Built-in wireless...awesome, thanks. I'm not using my wireless right now since both computers on it went down awhile ago (one got a virus and the other the hard drive crashed). I fixed them both, but haven't got around to putting the wireless back up. I guess I'll try to do that this weekend, and then after that see about adding the Wii. Wii Mario Kart is the only Mario game I've ever played, since I'm not much of a game player. Once we got the Wii for my daughter though, I'm slowly becoming addicted. My right thumb is paying the price though, although I got word from others that that is normal and should go away in a few months. It's all worth it to beat my daughter though. When we first started I was able to beat her now and then, but it was obvious she was light years ahead of me. Now, I'm king of the hill. It was a long road though and I'm not done with Mario yet, still got to get 7 more golds upgraded to 2 stars and finish off unlocking fast expert ghosts. Once that's done, its world beating time. I played for about an hour today, but didn't do so hot against the computer, sometimes the days are like that, but tomorrow I'll be kicking some major behind.

My Wii is hooked up wireless. Very easy to do - easier than connecting my laptop!
