2361 on Wii Sports Tennis now...I go down more than I go up so it's quite the workout now, you have to be perfect to move up now and then it's only by 2 rating points at that, but if you mess up you can go down quite a bit.

2370 on Wii Sports Tennis now. 29 rating points to go...not sure if I can get there, it took an hour just to get a measly 9 rating points and it's only getting harder.
Wii Fit, running, lifting, and eating hand sized portions every two hours for the past 4 months has seen me lose 25 lbs now and a better run time and overall fitness. I'm working on the gut now, doing a lot of situps, pushups, crunches, etc, anything to lose the middle weight. At 195 I have 15 more lbs to lose to get to my goal of 180. BMI says my overall goal should be 166, but I think 180 is just fine. I have to get my shirts taken in now, have to find a cheap tailor.

If you work out regularly (30 minutes or more for a session at least 4 days a week) and eat right (hand sized portions every two hours will increase your metabolism), that will get you the biggest result. Wii Fit along with that can help, but just Wii Fit by itself will get you nowhere.

2382 on Wii Sports Tennis now. I found out 2400 is as high as you can go. I think I'm developing Wii Tennis Elbow. My right elbow is killing me, I might have to give the tennis a rest for now.

Wii Fit along with that can help, but just Wii Fit by itself will get you nowhere. I still say that it can. Just depends on the person and situation - will it get you a buff, perfect body? No But can it make a change in your overall body and general well-being? Absolutely. I can tell you just from when I stopped using it and changed nothing else, it alone does still matter. And watch out for that Wii tennis elbow - that got me in the beginning. And Wii Thumb on occasion too - mostly from Guitar hero on that one though.

You can laugh if you want, but I really did hurt my elbow over playing it (not bad, its just sore). I know some just flick their wrist when they use their Wii remote, but I do the whole motion just like I was actually playing and man, doing the power serve it started hurting. I'm giving Wii Sports Tennis a week off and then I'll get back into it next Friday.

I'm laughing, but as I seriously remember the pain that my friend and I both ended up with in the beginning when I first got a Wii!!!

Elbow felt better, so went back to play Wii Sports Tennis and only advanced to 2384 (up 2 whole rating points) after an hour of playing...jeez. At this rate I'll never make 2400, but I can't quit since I'm hooked.

2390 on Wii Sports Tennis now, 10 rating points to go.
Did an hour and ten minutes on Wii Fit, now done over 10 and a half hours total on it. Just below 194 lbs now, gotta keep going...190 is in sight and 180 is getting closer. Pretty soon I'll be starting in the NFL, on Madden 2009 that is.

2394 on Wii Sports Tennis.
Bought some used Wii Polar Bear game for ten bucks today, you run around as a polar bear cub, playing, collecting stuff to advance into a full grown polar bear, etc, etc. I can't wait to get into a Polar Bear fight with a sasquatch or something.

If you can actually fight a sasquatch I'm going to have to buy it.

Naw, I made the sasquatch part up. I think (don't know for sure since I just started) all you see in it are other polar bears, seals, and whatever else lives in an arctic wasteland like theirs. As a cub I was trying to make the older bears mad so that they'd tear me to shreds, but all it does is reset you back to an earlier point, curse the PG rating! The bear attacks in Tomb Raider Anniversary are way better.

I've entered the world of Wii . . . Not since the days of frogger and Arti (is that what it was called?) have I played any kind of gaming device. I even have three daughters but never bought them any kind of game system either. Never wanted them sitting in front of the TV for hours on end playing mindless video games, but the Wii seems active and fun enough for the whole family. My wife offered to help a friend having some serious medical problems. She told her that if there was anything, anything at all that she could do to help she would be there for her. In the end nothing was needed and the friend overcame her medical problems. She said even though my wife didn't need to help, the offer meant the world to her, so she gave my family a Wii as a thank you. Anyway, just started this weekend. Played 10 games of bowling and reached pro status. I'll let you know if I make pro in any of the others. It's going to be tough competition just to play the game as my wife, three girls and their friends are having a blast with it. We'll see how much time dad gets on the thing . . . ;D

Welcome to the Wii World...you'll love it.
Tennis will probably end up being your favorite months down the road as it offers the easiest advancement to a 2000 rating and beyond. If you want quick tips just go to youtube and do a search on wii sports and you'll get a ton of quick tips that would otherwise take a few days to figure out yourself. I recommend doing the training on boxing, but skip the training on the other sports as just playing them without going through the training will result in a faster way to improve. I tried the Tennis training before doing the actual tennis and sucked at the training each time. After playing a few games of tennis, then going back to the training, I dominated the training so it was no use to me whatsoever. Same for golf and bowling, although my Mom and daughter love the bowling training. With bowling, just go to the right as far as you're comfortable with, then throw a curve into the pocket. After a few throws you'll find what you're comfortable with and then after that it's just perfecting it to try to bowl a perfect game. Boxing...I have no idea. Baseball...for batting, hold the Wii Remote straight up and down and swing for the fences for the best result. Holding down the a button when pitching will throw a screwball, holding the b button will a curveball, and a/b together will throw a splitter. Use the arrow keys to throw a ball to a certain spot, I like using down arrow about 5 times, then pitch inside as well, that way if they hit it, it usually goes foul or if it's fair it's a ground ball thanks to throwing downward. Once you become a baseball pro, get two foul balls on the batter by throwing inside, then throw the third one away from the batter at slow speed and he'll whiff almost every time.
Instead of waiting for your turn with the family, play together. Bowling and golf are perfect for that, but I find the women like bowling more.
I recommend getting Wii Fit after awhile as well, you'll love it.
