Bandit fans have been beaten senseless by Bob Scott's frugality for years now, and they keep coming back.
One small example.
The Storm practice in the indoor Avera Sports Institute (Avera is a proud Storm sponsor) it's a beautifully lit field turf facility. The bandits have practiced outside on a un-mowed HS football field, the Morningside football field, a basketball gym, and a tennis court this season. I'm sure in Bob's eyes what the Storm has is against league rules, although I'm fairly sure the league has no jurisdiction over practice facilities.
Storm players receive free use of the weight training and other facilitates at ASI as well, Bandits, nada. Again, nothing in the league by-laws regarding this sponsor given perk.
There are lots of other issues that the players wanted addressed during their meeting with coach Williams last week, only to have one of the players tell Bob, Bob basically told Tommie if you don't like the way I do things take a hike.
It does sadden me. Bandit fans are passionate. perhaps a bit premature to pull the "we suck" trigger at times, but in all honesty I'd love to have any of them on my side.

Just out of curiosity BT, how do you know these things about the Bandits?

Like any good journalist I got my two independent sources..
Perception is realty.. of the Storm is/was over paying their players then perhaps they were.. but we have no idea what the league allows and doesn't.. perhaps it's legal to pay for gas for players that live out of town that don't live in housing, perhaps it's not... I don't know.. Can anyone disprove anything I've said? I'm willing to retract if I've been misinformed.

I was just wondering if you were listening to a disgruntled coach. In my opinion it would suck to have to practice in some of those places, but if you don't question those things before you take the job you have no legit gripe.
The Morningside field is actually a really nice field. I would be happy to get to play on that field.

Oh, I'm sure Morningside's field is nice, however, not quite so nice the 2nd week of February when camp opens I'd imagine. None of these things are grievous in and of themselves, but you can certainly see how it would wear on players that know how other teams do things, Omaha, Sioux Falls..

ALL Bandit players have a free run of 4 Seasons Health Club. And they do have a place to practice indoors Williams just didnt want to because they have to roll the turf out and then back up after every practice...He thought somebody might get hurt..WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!We practiced there for 5 years and NOT ONE INJURY From rolling out the turf.

My apologies. A guy, like me , who hears about the differences, I guess I don't know poo. I don't get all the hostility from the Bandit fans. After like a decade of it you'd think I'd have given up trying to figure it out.. I suppose 4 winning seasons in 10 years would be very frustrating.

BT it is ok, you are the one I think most Bandits fans like. Not to say I hate all Storm fans, or really any of them, but you have been very hospitable to me.
I am not sure if you are saying we are being hostile toward you, or just in general. I wouldnt say we are hostile, we just express ourselves in an angry way.
(not sure if post makes since, but am posting it anyways)

No, it does make sense. which is weird, because BNDC rarely makes sense.. No one is being hostile towards me, it's just so odd to see such a cultural and societal difference in just 70 miles.

The second Bandits game in Omaha this year, at about 7:15 after all the intro stuff, the refs took 4-ever to get ready for the coin toss. Then the Beef captains werent at midfield and the refs couldnt get them gathered up. That is why we lost, the BS the Beef do before the game. Cheaters.
