Discuss the Fairbanks Grizzlies at San Angelo Stampede Express 1st Round Playoff Game here.
Fairbanks comes into the game with a 9-5 regular season record, finishing in second place in the Pacific North Division. West Texas is 3-4 on the road this season (dropping their last four after winning their first three).
San Angelo comes into the game with a 10-4 regular season record, finishing in second place in the Lonestar East Division. San Angelo is 6-1 at home this season.
NOTE: These two teams did not play each other during the regular season this year (the only first round playoff matchup where that is the case). These teams have met twice before, during the 2008 Intense Football League season, where San Angelo won 52-37 and 54-51.

I thought it was based on Geographic place, is not billings closer to Fairbanks then Texas?

It is based on geography, but you'll have to ask the IFL the exact criteria they used to come up with the matchups. Perhaps Tri-Cities trip by bus to Billings (or vise-versa depending on how badly damaged the Metra Center is in Billings after being hit by a tornado) outweighs whatever a flight would cost from Fairbanks to Billings/Texas, since they'll be flying anyway perhaps they should just fly to Texas...don't know. You can E-mail Benizio and I know he'd reply with the answer if you're that curious enough.

How's Rummell's injury from last week's game? Has anyone heard if he'll be 100% for the San Angelo playoff game or not?

Dolezel's done a good job turning this franchise around in his first year as coach. They have the toughest first round matchup in the Intense Conference, but I think they'll win it. It will probably be the best game of all the Intense Conference Matchups, since Tri-Cities, West Texas, and Corpus Christi look like extremeeeee underdogs to me.

Fairbanks sucks on the road BNDC. 2 1 point wins over Alaska and a win over Kent back in week 3. I'm pulling for Fairbanks, but I don't see it happening

I agree with Yellowstone. Anything is possible, but I'm going with SA.

Like I said I have no logical reason for it, gut just told me to do so. Of course gut also tells me to be a Bandits fan and that has worked out great.

Of course gut also tells me to be a Bandits fan and that has worked out great. I don't know if that's your gut, that's more of a location thing since it's your home. I always follow the home team as well and so far none of them have won a title for me (Frankfurt Galaxy won 4 titles after I left Germany, so I can kind of count that).
