If you think the horns and vulvas are something (yes I think the vulvas are something), you should be surrounded by bells at a Beef game. I'm used to it now, but my first two games of it was hard...was hearing the ringing a good day later. Love the bells now though.
I'm glad U.S.A. advanced, but on the flip side I'm sorry to see England go to the next round as well. Here's hoping the U.S.A team can make it farther than the bloody Brits.

Good news is U.S.A. is avoids Germany by winning the group. England has to face Germany instead.

I don't care about soccer, but I would've liked to see U.S.A. finish ahead of the Brits. If the Brits lose their final 16 game then they would've gone out in the same round, but the Brits came in second to U.S.A. in their group, so that's a win as far as accomplishments go...I'll take that. The Brits love their soccer so much that the next time I see one (which will be soon) and they bring up that infernal sport I can at least say my country finished ahead of yours and that sport is 5th on our radar at best...at best. The world accuses the U.S.A. of being in it's own world, well...there's a reason for that...soccer is boring as hell...to watch. To play, well, anything that gets your blood flowing is great, but to watch it drives me insane.

England lost to Germany 4-1, a butt whooping in soccer terms. Glad to see USA do better than them. So far all the group winners have beaten the second place finishers in the groups, except for USA losing to Ghana...doh! I think Portugal has a good shot of knocking Spain off though. Brazil, Germany, and Argentina are showing their traditional dominance again...Germany/Argentina would be a good match to watch (but I don't watch soccer...if it becomes a barn burner I'd hear about and could catch the 15 second highlight on youtube that would tell me all I need to know about the game).

Final Four are Uruguay vs Netherlands and Germany vs Spain. Uruguay and Germany are the only previous winners, while Netherlands has come in second twice. Spain has never advanced this far. Netherlands and Germany have been scoring a lot of goals recently and are probably the favorites to make the title game. Netherlands destroyed traditional powerhouse Brazil and Germany destroyed traditional powerhouse Argentina. The European teams always win when it's hosted in Europe and it looks like this first one hosted in Africa will also go to the Europeans unless Uruguay wins it. Right now only teams from Europe or South America have won the cup (9 each for those continents), and with three teams left Europe is the favorite to get to 10 first.

Netherlands beat Uruguay, so it looks like a Neth/Germ final unless Spain pulls off a miracle.

Spain upset Germany, so a new country will the would cup this year for the first time, either Spain or Netherlands.
I'd go with Netherlands.
